  1. Must of been removed - I have an 87 Quest and the tire tag is on the door jamb.
  2. How sensitive is the connection to the injector? I know I have a leaky injector ( the green), the engine starts up and runs, but a slight touch to the connector the engine stops. Is this due to a bad connection at the injector? Thanks
  3. 87 TSi - I'm about to do a TB rebuild, what do I use for injector clips other than wht is on there (stock)?
  4. I have one coming from Amazon for $62 (probably is junk for this price) but I'll use it to get a sticker which is due this month and if it sounds that bad I'll use it as a template to have the muffler shop make me one using a Dynomax muffler.
  5. I'm planning on ordering this from Autozone this week. Anyone here ever use them, any thoughts?
  6. 87 TSi - Anyone used the Walker muffler PART#:WK45854 MFR#:45854. Claims to be direct OE replacement Curious about the fit. Thanks If allowed here is the link: http://www.carpartswholesale.com/v5/details/Chrysler/Conquest/Walker/Muffler/1987/Base/4_Cyl_2-dot-6L/WK45854.html/?sc=Product+Listing+Page:1
  7. Problem is the muffler needs to be replace because the body of the muffler has seperated from the pipes, right where the the 2 pipes exit the body.

Can I add 134 to my old R12 system or does it definitely have to be converted?
  10. Are these still available? looks like one piece from Cat Converter back with 2 chrome tips. If not, is there a replacement that sounds the same? I like the sound, I guess it was called performance tuned exhaust. Thaks
  11. Thanks for all the help - Replaced with Bocsh fuel pump, tank went back in and the sweet sound of car running again. Now on to throtle body rebuild.
  12. I did not find the part numbers for the parts in question in there, maybe I missed.
  13. 87 TSi - does anyone know the replacement Bocsh part number for the fuel pump and the replacement part number for the external fuel filter that replaces the conical in-hose filter? Thanks
  14. I have an 87, are they still made with the same material that cracks easily? Or are they using something more flexible?
  15. I hooked up battery directly to the fuel pump, with a couple of taps to the pump it starterd to work. Each time I hook it up I have to tap it to get it to run. So looks like time for a new pump. I don't see any exposed terminal on the wires to the pump, the connections appear to sealed. when it comes time to replace, do I have to cut the wires off the old pump and add some kind of terminal to them? What replacement pump is recommended?
  16. I dropped it - will let you know how it goes with fuel pump and reinstall of the tank.
  17. 87 TSi - thanks to all on my other topic (Won't Start). I'm removing the tank to work with the fuel pump problem; I'm using the manual page 14-86. I don't want to drop the tank and rip anything out. I don't know what item 1 is (High floor side panel). I have done the following: remove fuel pipe cover, diconnect the pump connection, drain fuel, disconnect the 3 fuel lines (high pressure, return hose and vapor hose) I'm having a little problem with filler hose. I can't find item # 6 - fuel gauge unit connector. Any help finishing this will be much appreciated. Thanks
  18. Anyway to test the pump at the pump and any advice on dropping the tank - never done it before. I do have the manual. Thanks
  19. I checked voltage at the test terminal and got 9.6 volts, jumped the terminal to the battery and the pump still did not run. I popped the cover to gain access to the pump and found a mice nest right next to the pump I removed the nest but did not see any damage but I cannot see where the wires attach to the pump. Is there a test I can do here or do I have to drop the tank? Thanks
  20. Few questions before I proceed with these tests. Only way I know how to check for spark is to remove a wire from a plug, hold the end close to chasis ground, turn over engine and look for spark between wire and ground, is this correct? Don't want to ruin anything. What do I remove to add starter fluid? Not sure I can make out where the pump check terminal is - you know what page of the manual the diagram is on? Thanks for everyone's help.
  21. So the gas will not come out of the gas line when removed from where it connects to on the injector cover? I just don't understand how it works.
  22. 87 TSI - been sitting since before winter but started about 2 months ago. Pulled the gas line at the injectors, turned the engine over but no gas came out, should it? What steps can I take to make sure gas gets to the injector, I guess that woul be a start. Thanks for any help.
  23. Thanks for the reply, I do have some more questions if you can help. I want to get all the info before I take the TB off. 1. Is item 15 (collar) included in these kits? They are all craked. If not can they be purchased seperately? 2. The platic piece that goes around the injector that recieves the electrical connector; on the green injector it is cracked, does this mean the injector has to be replaced? 3. What is the best way to disconnect these electrical connectors (item 7 on page 14-71) from the injector without braking anything? Thanks for all your help.
  24. I don't know what that is, I'm looking at the Injection Mixer Assy on page 14-73 on the manual below. please let me know which part it is. Thanks http://www.starquestgarage.com/manuals/service/conquest/1988/88_conquest_service_nav.html
  25. Thanks- I called Autozone - looks like I can order at the store, prepay and should take a couple of days. They don't have the Felpro Base Gasket; I'll have to get that elsewhere.
