  1. bump. still looking for a setup available.
  2. I am looking to purchase complete mpi system. That should include complete intake, all sensors, maybe pipes and most definitely the standalone computer with all wiring. shoot me a price .
  3. yeah. Unlike us here in the U.S., GS's, both first gen and 2nd gen have a large following. You got the VIP culture as well as drifters alike. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh154/willmoodom/nob-hks-sponsored-toyota-aristo.jpg alot of aftermarket support
  4. I am liking the lex too. but to correct you, the 5er if chosen would under go a ls1 swap. I do know about the water pump. Recently did a top end rebuild on a e36 and it was required to hammer the old pump out due to them being pressed in. Ofcourse the blade was torn to s***. I seriously think the GS would be the flavor for my sweet tooth. It will even take supra brakes with out any modding.
  5. I've seen them. I actually got some of my info. for the tyclone from here. but that is not suitable. first it's 2dr, secondly it's not that nice looking to me. thirdly, that car is not known for it's handling. it's heavy and bulky. I admit it would be a sleeper. but a sleeper is not what I am looking to build. would you really choose that jag over the GS or the 5er?
  6. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh154/willmoodom/yellow1.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh154/willmoodom/aristo2by4.jpg http://www.geocities.com/mymercedesbenze320/images/DSC07456.JPG look at these 3 vehicles and look at the evo. I think we can agree they and the evo are in different classes. I have driven a evo both 9 and X. sti as well. I dont think there are many if any enthusiast or tuner who haven't driven these cars. but an evo does not ride like a lex , benz or beamer. first and foremost they are luxery cars that have been or can be tuned for performance with comfort intact. The evo on the other hand is a performance car first and I dont think it can be made to ride any softer. then again who would want to soften the ride up on that. It was built for one thing and it does it well. http://www.channel4.com/4car/media/100-greatest/03-large/79-mitsubishi-evo-8.jpg
  7. Those things are sweet. but tranny and cost are still an issue. either model of car I chose to go with, 5er or gs3, I could setup with a 5 or 6 sp tranny. But I am doing an automatic install instead. that is the primary reason these manumatic trannies are popular with people because there are times you want to burn something and sometimes you want to chill. my car will be able to do both, but primarily chill atmosphere.
  8. I am 6'4". Not much leg room in back for other people not to mention trunk space. most people have some form of boom installed. with that, hard pressed for room to hold a full size suit case.
  9. s8 expensive parts and tuning. s4 tad bit small. also I dont believe there was a s8 in us until last couple years. correct me if I'm wrong. Remember, I'm talking used cars, not new. so initial cost of both the 5er and gs300 together would still be $1000's cheaper than a used srt8 300. 94'-97 e34 540i are $3-5 grand for mid level condition. Ofcourse I seen them cheaper(dogged out low level) and more expensive ( enthusiast owned high level). 96'-03 gs300 are going in the range of $5500-$8500 for mid level. thats the second gen gs. to make things cheaper, I could go with the 1st gen gs300. I am seeing them as low as 2500 and there are some of these already swapped and tuned being sold for $10 grand.
  10. so many times I have been on the road and idiots will speed up, cut you off and then slow down. all because they have a faster vehicle. there joy riding and site seeing. most times I got some where to go and be, but now I got to site see with them until a lane opens up. who has experienced a bumper to bumper traffic situation where the car with the quickest 1-2 step gets clearing top move forward? I live in Rockville, Md. and rush hour is ridiculous. I work in Silver Spring, Md. and though my morning commute is bad, my afternoon commute is almost homicidal. Some days I don't mine the shifter but there are more days this year that I just want to put it in drive and go. If I see an opening, punch the gas and let that 400+ hp get me there before it closes. So in retrospect, stuck in crazy traffic, would you prefer the automatic ls1 5er, automatic 4dr supra, or the 6sp evo/sti?
  11. I know they are reliable as hell if not played with. But I want to play!!!
  12. It seems that everyone here is biased. question? would you choose to pack your family up in a evo or sti for a long trip. and don't get caught in traffic- with a clutch. I assume everyone here would prefer something bigger, more relaxing to drive. I actually have a four door impreza-not sti. and believe me, a 30 mile trip or an hour on the road and it seems like longer when you finally get out and stand up. just because I may want a bigger car, doesn't mean the car has to be anemic on the power band. which leads me back to the srt8 300 and the similar. I like them but for $25000 used, I could build up either one of these cars,gs/5er, for thousands less including the purchase of the car. the good thing is these are not what you would call limited cars. both had production runs of 5 years or more. so standard parts are abundant. also, both cars had v8 packages as well. stronger bits are interchangeable. for my fun factor enjoyment, thats what the quest is for. and soon the tyclone.
  13. them things are not cheap to buy or keep running. they are nice and quick though. but I need something that is inexpensive and easy to repair. not just the engine side of things but overall car aswell. beemers are cheap on parts, but the older models like the e34's are quite affordable.
  14. I know all about those chryslers. use to have a t2 shelby before I got into the quest. but again, those are compact. If I had the extra money, I would buy a srt8 300. that's the size and type of car I'm after. though the 5er would require a bit more work for a fit and finished look, the gs300 would be a substantially easier setup. I wont say money is no object. becuase it is. I've done a ton of research on both cars to make the project as inexpensive and straight forward as possible. all fab and install done by me except for exhaust. that I will have to foot the bill for.
  15. as much as I like the evo, it's not what I would call a sedan. it's a compact which happens to have 4 doors. It's also not known for being comfortable for those long drives or cruises. I got the quest, I am building a tyclone from the ground up. so something less aggressive is in order.
  16. quite a few reads but no one with an opinion?
  17. I've been looking into getting me something a little more comfortable to cruise in with tuner compatibility. my choices are e34 5er and ls1 swap OR 2nd gen gs300 with 2jzgte swap. each car is pretty durable and known for good handling. each has a decent following in the tuner crowd. both the car and the selected power plant. what do you guys think? though this car will have the power to run with most anything on the street, it's primary use is to cruise. maybe a burst here and there. both engines are known to be stought in stock form. my choice for ls1 is the gen 3 6.0l out of the trucks. those blocks are iron and the 6.0l in particular comes low compression stock. stage set for a turbo. though of course I would rebuild it. mated to that would be a 4l80e good to 600 in stock form or for a few more dollars, a 4l85e. management would probably be hptuner or roadrunner. with the 2jzgte, they are proven as well, in the US they come in the TT Supras. Self explanatory. unfortunately trying to buy one of them is almost impossible. However, a little tidbit I learned is in Japan the gs300 known there as the Toyota Aristo comes fitted with that same supra engine. How fair is that. Here we get the N/A model and they get the TT! Another plus is the Aristo TT models only came with automatics. the N/a trannies here are good for 400 stock and with a VBody/TConverter combination another 100 or so? not verified yet. the autos on the TT Aristos handles upwards of 800 and change. there are 2 differences between the Us and jdm 2jzgte. in order to use the jdm engine, I have to swap the cams with the Supras and the injectors. jdm uses 440 and the usdm uses 550's. Different impedances. other than that, I'm good. going rate on everything needed to run in the gs is $1500 to $2000! Engine comes complete including turbos, wiring, tranny, everything. Even the ecu which I dont believe can be used here. As for management, anything the Supras use. Piggybacks seem to work beautifully on these cars. That way, I can keep the trac, stability and all that stuff. my goal for power is 4-450. nothing extreme. A lot of enhancements and wheels selections for both cars. both have a VIP following out there in the asian countries, which is good for choosing a nice wheel fitment setup. so, what you guys thinking? I like that 4door supra idea but a ls1 v8 under the hood w/ a turbo would be ridiculous. but that 2jz power for power would net me better gas mileage than the ls1. decisions decisions. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh154/willmoodom/yellow1.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh154/willmoodom/aristo2by4.jpg
  18. dont waste any more time! if you paid through paypal, start procedures to getting it back.
  19. now how does it sound with that exhaust?
  20. Can I still get in on this? It's 8:56Pm on Sat Feb,28/2009 I'll send a PM too.
  21. EDDIE: what you said about the union and retirement does make a lot of sense, especially when taken into account the those at the top taking a big portion. Everyone maybe struggling, but the point I made is domestics, mainly GM are the ones crying for money. and the imports seem to be selling cars continuously. I work for the county, so being affiliated with union isn't a bad thing. That is the only thing that has kept me secure through out these times. But there were definitely some bad decisions made, and I can't help believing there were outside influences. But again the money being spent on retirement is only a portion of what's going on. The money crunch for GM didn't happen over night. more than once, someone saw something and made no plans to correct it. Also, choice of cars coming out of GM. Imagine how much to retool the fact just for the cobalt ss from SC to turbo. not to mention R&D. putting models out for a 3 year run is a waste of money. such as the impala and specifically the impala ss. People can't even use that engine to swap into another impala because the special cradle used. anyone forget the GTO. waste of money. how long that run for? 2 years. It imagine it takes at least 5 years to realize a positive return on new models. Meanwhile ford, I think has the longest running model car that hasn't had major changes in the Crown Vic. Basically guaranteed money and if it works, leave it alone. GM had that in the early 90's impala and impala ss. that ss was and still is bad a**. It just seems GM is in it strictly to make money. Of course everyone and business wants to make money BUT! there are 2 types of money. You got short term money and you got long term money. GM=short term. get as much as you can and invest as little as possible. Chrysler=long term. A few of there cars have already been requisition for state and federal gov. use. such as law enforcement, public trans. ect. Hopefully GM will get back to making good, not reliable but, durable cars. They have a good v8 in the ls series engines and a good 4cyl. they had a good v6 in the 3.8 but no longer available, except for the cts(I think). Are they still running the 4.3 in the small trucks? That was a stout piece too. Now if I'm seeing things incorrectly, I know someone will set me right.
  22. Can some one tell me how all imports from Honda to Porsche can build high optioned, quality vehicles and ship most here ,sell for reasonable prices and not be in need of a bail-out? I have not heard of any foreign automaker hurting from the slump. I have my own opinion, but like to hear everyone else. It's widely believed that we as a country are greedy. No amount is enough. how is it we are considered the riches country, but we have the worst gas. like dope dealers, the quickest way to get more out of your product is to cut it and recut it. It's rare to see a midsized, $20000+ vehicle being sold with no antilock brakes. A few GM models sold that way exactly. so in order to get the car with, you have to upgrade to a more expensive model. hence why people go foreign, not to mention the reliability. we bought a 97 4runner new and the only work needed done to it so far is alternator replacement. truck has 150000 on the clock. I bought a impala in 2006 new. with 50000 miles I recently replaced the engine cradle(broke), control arm (bent due to broke cradle) and now my power steering is gone. Fluid is pouring out as quick as I pour it in. let it sit for a few minutes and there's a puddle. Not to mention the car drives like a boat. literally! I think it's unfair to force me to pay them for building BS and overcharging me for it. Gov. gives me a lousy $600 and they get $30 bil. not right. I wonder how many upper office types went on a shopping spree after that? Most makers built and sold cars according to trends. we were in a era of speed and performance. and turbos is what everyone wants theses days. only domestic makers to follow suit was the Chrysler family. They have historically been known as financial fuckups, but for the last few years of the 90's and early 2000's they were making money. They surprised everyone even them selves with the srt4. decent performance for just under 20 to 22 grand. and even catered to the speedracer crowd with stages to improve power. then came the re-release of the hemi and rearwheel drive cars. even with gas prices soaring, they sold like hot cakes. it's like Hondas out there. Can't drive a block without seeing atleast 3, whether it be charger,300 or the magnum. then to take it even further, for the true v8 heads looking for that umph, they hit us with the srt8's. all this from an unconventional automaker. not the same type of ownership as GM or ford. Meanwhile GM cant compete with a bunch of front wheel drive undr powered, under option, overpriced buckets in there stable. even with the cobaltss, they made an error in judgment. what people want is turbos, not supercharges especially on a 4cyl. 2 years later and they reinvent the cobalt with the turbo. but now it's too late. I'll take the mazdaspeed 3 over that any day. 270hp,premium interior, hids, and led taillights, enough room for a 6'4" person to enter and drive comfortably and priced at 25. Im highly disappointed in GM. this from a company that has brought us legends such as zr1's T'A's, syty's and grandnationals, ls series engines and northstar engines......................... Man! sugar rush!
  23. sorry to drift off topic a bit but........ That a body kit extension I would buy. The car looks that much better and those wheels are hotness!
  24. deposit sent today 12/30/08 "meme5860" This is for the rear pillow ball camber plates. Already got the grouches front units.
  25. Could we imagine the up rise if one of those "no color " F1 drivers said "Nascar is some s***" "It takes no skill to drive in circles"? All hell would break loose. Can some one do nascar in hand signals? "Nascar fool!" - "F1 on that a** wanksta"?
