  1. thanks for the tips ! looks like i have progress. I got some cool flames from the exhaust and sometimes the throttlebody. After monkeying around with the timing in the cal I've almost got it to kick over. Darn this battery charger and it's mere 75amp start setting I had to set initial crank pulse to 50 across the board for this .
  2. hold up the door handle when you lock the car
  3. For now, I've got regular 87 (about 2 gals) and I'm using Neon SRT-4 Mopar Stage 2 injectors (682cc) Firing order is set for Coil / Cyl 1 - 0 Coil / Cyl 2 - 3 Coil / Cyl 3 - 1 Coil / Cyl 4 - 2 I'll just set it to dump fuel like a mad man.
  4. Ah, got a new cal and I've got spark ! Set base timing during crank to -10 btdc and tried also 0btdc . I can't get her to kick over. :/
  5. Gah. They gave me a cal to try and I get spark rarely now with it. They need me get a scope trace of the magna distributor .
  6. I've done the coil testing mentioned in the FAQ on AEM's forum and I get spark . Unfortunately just not while cranking. I'm using Ford 4L coil packs . I'm not really sure what's going on with it.
  7. I got stat sync'ed ! AEM hasn't responded yet, but that monkey is out of the way. Still no spark, unfortunately.
  8. I've enlisted their help. I got them a log and oscilloscope trace of the sensor. Hopefully I hear back soon.
  9. Grabbed a new magna distributor. I'm getting cam and crank events just no stat sync. AEM is working with me on that. Tested coils and injectors using user 1 PW control and we are good. So still working out issues getting timing to sync
  10. Closer and closer, nearly started it but my magna dizzy died. Ordered a new one from flea bay. Now the ems-4 sees crank and can events. But the old walbro fuel pump now sounds like it's grinding for a second then stops working. Seems that I must replace it. And get my tank cleaned.
  11. i ordered mine from here : http://www.genosgarage.com/ i haven't installed mine yet .
  12. these are kind of cool http://www.vumaxx.com/

    MPI intake

Mine came from a junkyard in Victoria, aus . I just called a few until one said they would ship internationally .
  17. technically I paid 8g's for one.. but it was attached to a car and it was not an 83 hood
  18. lets put this in perspective . i paid over 800$ for a mass produced wrx hood .
  19. Hi Scott, I gave her a go with a pull up resistor, but I just got a flat voltage signal there was no square wave (drop to 0) when a vane passed through the hall sensor . I found replacement hall effect sensors available but nearly equal to the cost of importing another distributor. it's not worth repair. 2x hall sensor = 25$ + shipping. I may try and pickup a mighty max distributor.
  20. I can't weld and have no access to a machine shop if any of those activities would be required . for such s conversion
  21. turns out the distributor is bad, neither of the sensors are outputting a square wave. looks like i'll be in the market for another magna distributor or trying to figure out another crank/cam trigger setup
