  1. I'm thankful that my Starion is no longer my daily driver (as of last Sept.) so I can do any work I want to do without having an impact on my daily life.
  2. It was a typical poor Mexican Christmas- tamales to unwrap and glances to exchange.
  3. Here is what I did with mine. 6.5 MB Quarts that are old as dirt (cira late 90's). In hindsight, I should have mounted the tweeters a bit higher but still had a good sound. http://www.beyonddarwin.com/Starion/starionpics/webdoorright.jpg http://www.beyonddarwin.com/Starion/starionpics/webmbquartright.jpg
  4. Indeed. I like the parcel shelf as well. I hate seeing the annoying reflections in the rear window of the LEDs of the amps and any light escaping out of the tail lights. I am not really concerned with weight as I am with sound, sound proofing, and general appearance. I plan to raise the metal floor up an inch or two and place my amps and subs in there. I like the tightness of the 8" subs. Trying to figure out a way to keep the spare in there. I have already lined the bottom and sides with dynamat.
  5. I might be interested in the radio and centre bezels.
  6. Also keep in mind that when you go to the amber lenses, you remove the red running light portion of our cars which technically make them illegal for US market. US cars have to have visible amber lights in front and red in the rear when viewed from the side to indicate direction of travel. The old Supras had rear amber lenses and had an additional red running light: http://newbeetle.org/forums/attachments/miscellaneous-hoo-ha-archive/37804d1190582842-whats-your-dream-garage-85supra.jpg http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk296/suprajayaz/85%20Supra%207MGTE/2008-5857mgteSupra0002.jpg I still need to come up with a tasteful solution for my lenses. http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z145/lpalaciosATX/Pigeon%20Forge/DSC_0163.jpg
  7. Yes, I believe those are the Aussie lights. I don't care for the blocks. The one D_venable posted were of mine: http://www.beyonddarwin.com/Starion/starionpics/JDMYO.jpg The big block is somewhat annoying and I need to rewire it so it is not a running light (which is how I initially wired it). I think the JDMs resemble the OEM Starion lights for the US market more than the Aussie ones.
  8. Yeah, it is not very hard. I have an old school HKS in mine that matches the original gauges. http://www.beyonddarwin.com/Starion/starionpics/webinstrumentcluster.jpg
  9. To whom are you speaking? Mine, yes. The way I angle it, the highest edge is even with the top of the amp.
  10. Nicely done. I have single PPI6600 amp straddled across the two seats. I hope to redo it over the winter months. Sorry about the mess, I was hauling stuff. http://www.beyonddarwin.com/Starion/starionpics/webamp.jpg The sub box covers it up when installed. http://www.beyonddarwin.com/Starion/starionpics/websubs.jpg

  12. I should have gotten one of the arcade games when i could a while back. Now they will be impossible to buy/afford.

  14. I watched the original again yesterday and going to see it again tonight at the IMAX. I figured out who Tron was early on. I agree they could have utilised his story more but having only giving you a bit of information as to his fate, left it open for a sequel. I don't want to give much more away for those who have not seen it yet. It would have been nice to have had Wendy Carlos do to the soundtrack again (I heard she contributed to the game) but in keeping it current, I supposed using Daft Punk wasn't too bad. I loved the homages to the original like the music artist used when the arcade was powered up...nice touch...and the door comment.
  15. I liked it but I am a Tron nerd. I watched the original again today before I got see it again. I caught some homages to the first and wondered what else I missed. I saw it in 3D yesterday. I will see it again with some friends at the IMAX 3D in a few days when we can all sync up our schedules.
  16. I had a Norwegian Blue- beautiful plumage. It is now an ex-parrot.
  17. Thanks! I didnt think it was I that had this issue. I have been wanting to redo the harnesses for a long time. Since it is no long my daily, I think I can afford to tear it apart completely over our mild winter.
  18. Contrary to popular belief, the Mason-Dixon Line is not the division between the Union and Confederacy. That line was actually the western edge of VA and then along the 35th longitude line. The MS Line was to resolve PA, MD, and DE disputes.
  19. All, All my electrical accessories like the seat belts, windows, and wipers CRAWL when the temperature outside starts to dip. This is quite annoying. Does anyone else have this issue? And yes, all the motors/gears have been torn apart and cleaned and the tracks are lubed. They run fine when 80+ outside. I also have the upgraded GM alternator with a beefy output wire. I am thinking it is due mainly to our old and not-so-robust wiring. I think a good winter project would be to make new harnesses with better wiring. Thoughts? Annoyed in Austin
  20. The chemistry among the US presenters is no where near as good as the UK version and I think that is what makes the show. You can have good content but if the presentation is bad, then the show will not come off as good. I am not sure if it was that good of an idea to copy exact as far as stage (their coffee table is better) and "Stig" but at least it maintains some continuity. I do like the map of the course as the Stig takes the cars around the track. Personally I don't like when US tries to bring UK shows over. I can't stand our version of The Office. USTG is still in its infancy and will hopefully develop into a good show.
