  1. My buddy Steve Graham has a one piece air dam for sale. He wants $250.00 for it. It was going to go on the 87 Atlantic Blue I had but it has been sold. It would be a good idea to pick up in Colorado as shipping would be expensive. You can reach Steve Graham at 719-332-5034. He's a great guy and trustworthy friend I have known since we were kids. Thanks for looking guys.
  2. Hey guys, It's been a while. I'm tempted to not help my buddy. lol As I'd like to talk my wife into letting me repurchase it myself........anyway. My high school buddy steve is selling the 1987 Atlantic Blue Conquest I sold to him a few years ago. If you want a very nice OE car with about 118,000 miles on it call him. Steve's cell# is 719 332-5034. (Grahams custom cabinets) Just like when I owned it, it's garaged all the time and someone is going to get a clean car. He is only asking 3K which is very reasonable for this car. Please call him for pics and any other info you may want. ZERO RUST. The car had a rust inhibitor applied when purchased from the factory and thus, it's aged very gracefully. Steve's a great guy and he'll open right up to you when you call. Thanks again...........I almost forgot. Anyone know DZ NUTZ? He has seen this car personally and can tell you his thoughts.
  3. Thanks for the inquiries guys. I appreciate the love.......Unfortunately, I'm putting Steve's car on the dreaded ebay tomorrow( I hate those people) For fellow StarQuesters, he'll let it go for $3800.00 Steve's cell # 719-332-5034.
  4. Im in Pueblo now too. You may have seen me in my VR4 putting around town. If you're interested, let me or Steve know and we'll go look at her. Thanks for inquiring.
  5. My friend Steve is selling the 87 Atlantic Blue TSI I owned and sold to him three years earlier. This car is very clean and has been taken very good care of by me and now Steve. The car has about a 118,000 miles on it now and still runs great. Steve unfortunately has to put in some kind of drain underground in his backyard and it's forcing him to sell the car. The asking price is 3800.00 Call steve with your questions. 719-332-5034. The car is located in Monument Colorado. Ask Steve for picks as unfortunately, I have deleted all the pics I have had of the car. Steve is a very honest and friendly guy. Just tell him Rob sent ya. This car is beautiful. I bought it on ebay, flew out to Washington DC and looked her over. I drove her back to Colorado and the lovefest was on. Unfortunately, economic times are effecting a lot of us as I recently sold my Roadrunner too:( This car will not be parted! lol If I don't sell it to a starquest member, I'm going to post it on autotrader(screw ebay) and try to get it sold for Steve. I would love to sell it to someone on here as I would like the car to be cared for well. Someone as passionate about these cars as Shelby,UL(even though he's cocky lol) Dad..someone like that. I feel I was very lucky to find a TSI in this kind of condition and I'm sure someone can appreciate that. If you'll notice in some of the pics, I have tinted the windows professionally since I first purchased it.(Colorado sun baby) DZNuts has seen this car in person as we met up at the local A&W one night. This car was garaged by myself and now sits protected in Steve's garage under a car cover. I almost forgot. A one piece airdam was purchased(not installed) for the car and it goes with it too. Thanks.
  6. Lol I guess my only beef with the military was the lack of information or truth that I received when I first joined. I had the foresight when I was a kid to realize that it would be wise to do something in the military that I could do when I got out also. I was told by my recruiter that as a aircraft mechanic in the military, i'd have the necessary experience to be hired on by the airlines right out of the military because of my experience. He either didn't know(i doubt it) or just chose not to tell me about the A&P license. To make a long story short the FAA would grant me my A because of my experience however, required me to go to school for my P. The problem with that is you can't work on aircraft for a living with just one and not the other, even if your going to school. The school was almost three hours away and I needed to work so that ended my wrenching career. It would be great if the military took care of it's vets a little better especially in the work place. I had four years of wrench time that was completely wasted. That opportunity is long gone and it's worked out for the best but again, it would have been great to put my experience right to work and not have struggled when I first got out. I wouldn't trade my year in Korea for anything though. Oh the stories I have been telling since then, seem to keep my friends entertained. :eek1bluegreen:
  7. 24th Aviation Regiment, F Company, Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah GA Desert Storm was my last gig. 67 Tango20 otherwise known as a Black Hawk Crewchief...........and the FAA still says I'm not qualified to work on civilian aircraft. lol :usa:
  8. and it looks like it. I like my chevy's too however, there is no comparison in the looks department between these two.
  9. The Camaro looks like a cheshire cat/mako shark offspring.
  10. Wow! They actually sobered Michelle Rodriguez up enough to do a movie. I wonder if the man is still keeping her down. lol
  11. Yep and I moved on too. Metallica plays exactly the type of stuff that I don't listen to. Thank god their are a ton of bands that still play speed/ :ylsuper: thrash.
  12. I was excited for a minute there and then reality set in.........same old sell out Metallica. This is the style they started playing in the early nineties and alienated a lot of their fans like myself, that use to be memorized by their lightning style riffs, concise starting and stopping and just absolutely brutal music. Oh well. At least I still have Kill em all, ride the lightning, master of puppets and even and justice for all to listen to. I have never bought a Metallica CD since And Justice For All. Lars can #$%$# me! Yeah lars, you sell out every night everywhere he plays as he smugly stated years ago. Well I buy Cd's every month for the last twenty five years pretty consistantly and for the last 18 of them, none are from Metallica. I'd rather spend money on Exodus,Overkill,Testament,Annihilator,Celtic Frost,Megadeth,Anthrax and other bands that have stayed true to the music "they" introduced us to. I think I have spent enough money on CD's and have logged enough hours(and still do everyday on my 2&1/2/hr commute) to state that I have a PHD in Metal. That being said and no offense intended Mazarin, Metallica no longer plays the type of music of their original genre and can't expect the fans of speed/thrash metal to get excited when they announce, they have produced new "music" If they ever did play like the real Metallica use to, i'll be the first person to be tweeterpated. :jumping0045: Black Sabbath,Judas Priest etc are where the word Heavy Metal came from. Metallica actually had the word speed metal coined after their absolutely blistering pace. No one was riffing that fast and playing like that at the time. When I actually heard them the first time, I was in high school and I even went "what the #$%$#" just because no one was playing like that and it took even me a second to feel them. Then you actually come up to their speed and style of playing and go #$%$# ya! I actually use to put them on and crank it to get me going during the day. I would actually pick up the pace when doing chores around my mom and dads. lol They were absolutely brutal and every time I listen to ride the lightning for example, it's just as adrenaline pumping now as it was twenty plus years ago.
  13. That sucks guy. I hope the judge takes care of you. Here's a couple of ideas on cars. I ALWAYS go for the coupe over the four door grocery getter. If you don't have a family and it's just you and the woman, why go for the unsightly four door? If you don't do major mods, find a nice 99 eclipse GST. If you just enjoy your 230hp and take care of it, you shouldn't have problems and only put out money for regular maintanance. That should qualify for your loan parameters. You can find a 2003 350Z for that 15K also. Again sporty enough and reliable if treated well. If you had the money and didn't need the loan, I would recommend an SC400. Actually, you could probably find a nice 99 in that price range and those are sporty, luxurious and most of all........very reliable. The only downside is if you live where it actually does snow in the winter. The car is a plow in the winter and you won't be driving it, trust me. :driving: Another option is a(I know, I know, I can hear it now) a Prelude. If previously taken care of, breaking down is the last thing you will be doing in this car. I would never refer you to drive a Cadillac Eldorado. I thought i did my homework pretty well before buying a car and this one showed me that I needed to even do more research. lol Nothing like going in to have your struts replaced and finding out that GM IS THE ONLY place to get them and that will be 4000K please. The North Star V8(While powerful) is a nighmare and the aluminum heads are prone to "lifting" Not a problem, they will rethread the aluminum head for you to the tune of $3500.00 #$%$#$! Okay......I feel better now.
  14. I see your point however, I can only go off of the differences I have seen in just 20 years. I have seen apocolypto. I told my buddy Jim who was with me that his ancestors had issues.lol This might be a bit long winded..... When I was in highschool, we didn't have or need police cars at every highschool, middleschool and elementary school. Of there was a fight(and I was involved in my fair share) it was settled with fists and win or lose it was over. In fact a lot of the times, the people involved would become friends. No coming back with a gun, knife or whatever. When it was over, it was over. The aggression level has went sky high since i was in school and it's over the most idiotic stuff, i have ever heard. Starting a melee for someone stepping on your Jordans and scuffing them up?Are we that #$%$# retarted? I/we use to give flat tires to people all the time and it was all in good fun. Imagine someone doing that today, with all the wannabe gang bangers we have today. Here's another difference...in fact BIG DIFFERENCE! I had some nice muscle cars growing up Charger, Chevelles etc. I usually would smoke the tires once in a while for visual effect, or go from stoplight to stop light occasionally on Nevada Ave in Colorado Springs. if I wanted to play seriously however, we would go out in the boonies Gold Camp RD and race. ABSOLUTELY no one around. Whoever won or lost we gave the thumbs or smiled at each other. It was always fun and an adrenaline rush or social event if you will. This is what I get nowadays. People rolling up to me in my VR4 in 88 Honda civics, Toyota Corollas etc and they just kind of pace you. You look over to see what their intentions are and most of the time you get no eye contact. So i'm like okay and just go about my business and then usually one of the following things happen....while i'm on the highway(I commute a 130 miles a day) If their on my right side they will sometimes stay there and then get behind me and pass me all of a sudden on the left to cut in front of me and take the off ramp to the right. If it only happened once i'd shake it off however, it's happened enough for me to realize this is obviously some new cool way to show off while almost causing an accident. I watch them as they go off the off ramp, absolutely no eye contact. I don't get it. Then you have the jealous idiot who comes up to me in their car and i might ignore them after their repeated attempts to get me to run or if there isn't a lot of traffic, i'll gun it and start pulling away and then I shut it down. About half the time thats all that happens however the other half of the time; i get the idiots that wait for a mile or two and then drive up next to me flipping me off or flashing wannabe gang signs and that garbage. wt....? Is the car an extension of their manhood and how dare i embarass them in front of their friends? I don't get it. I was an angry teen. I was moved from NY as a kid and a huge Italian family to Pueblo #$%$# Colorado! I won't bore everyone with all of the reasons i was hostile however, do you know what? I was repectful to adults, because I was taught that. i could have just came from a huge fight down at the river bottom and my adrenaline was still running however, if an adult said something to me; i was like yes sir/maam. Now I get a bunch off angry #$%$# kids looking at me like their ready to go. I'm forty three #$%$# years old now. lol If i'm not paying attention, i fricken fall down and i have well conditioned youngsters wanting to fight the old guy? I don't get it? Here's some more wonderful moments i have had courtesy of some younger people. This was about my VR4 when i came out of a convenience store."Uhh, isn't that a kids car and not a grownups"(Friends all laughing in the background) I was stunned for a minute(I usually just get nice ride comments) then i said, how many 47K cars do you think Mitsubishi sold to kids? Then their was silence. I guess the willingness to engage an adult with no provocation, is what I don't get. I absolutely love it when I'm at a fast food place and a cashier(female) accidently touches my hand when giving me back my change and i get the absolutely disgusted look, like a 80 year old man just exposed themselves or something. I'm in my forties sweetheart and someday you will be too.lol I thank god some of the younger generation isn't like that however, i see it a heck of a lot. I use to be such an extrovert and nowadays with peoples unpredictable behavior; i'm becoming more and more of an introvert. If i had a time machine, i would definitely go back twenty years. This time though armed with what I know now, I would make sure I enjoyed every minute and not rush any of it.
  15. How did he choose Greddy? He just bought the car as is I believe.
  16. It looks like Angelina Jolie..............no nevermind, it isn't overated, it's head is to small and it's lips don't look like like they went through a cheese grater.
  17. UUUUUGH! Rick #$%$# Astley! I haven't seen or heard that in twenty years!....Just for you(Sung to the tune of that song you posted again) Never gonna click your link, never gonna watch that again, never gonna sleep this week....... i hate you........never gonna click, never gonna click. lol
  18. Thank god for cd's huh? I absolutely refuse to listen to regular radio anymore. If I'm not playing CD's, I'm listening to Stern and thats about it.
  19. While I love the music from the eighties there are a few things from then and more recently, that make me cringe. If you hate the B52's love shack, you will definitely hate their song(as I do) Rock Lobster.....That band is still around making "music" and making me cringe. Dead or Alive's song, You spin me round....when that video would come on and that guy starts his little dance moves(and I was a teen) things started breaking. Here's a little taste of insanity for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMwdAc1Dzfg The macarena song. How that song got popular and WHY(#$%$# WHY) people start doing a dance to it, defies logic. One hit wonder Lou Bega and Mambo # 5. UUUUUUUUUGH! A little bit of scumbag in front of me.....a little bit of idiot on the tv. lol :chair:
  20. Just remember my young whippersnappers, you too will be "old" one day and those who scream the most when they are younger; seem to also change their tune the most when they get older. ...............now ask me how I know this.
