  1. What ?our replacement pump at napa are not walbro, I didn't say that. The stock pump will not provide enough volume for high boost/high power period. If you are staying with stock turbo and light mods keep the stock pump. It doesn't flow what you say,I have flow tested a stock pump in person. Anyway I was saying that most aftermarket fuel pump parts are made by one manufacturer and built/moded by another, thats why so many look alike-as stated in an earlyer post.
  2. I think the red tops have a 3 yr replacment warrenty and the yellows are 2 yrs.
  3. You should get new hardware for the bumper to airdamn bolts. Water gets collected behind the bumper and it doesn't have a easy path out, therefor those bolts are probaly rusted and will most likely snap unbolting them. The 2 big bolts on both sides of the intercooler are for the bumper support.
  4. on the walbro website they have flow graphs for the pump.As to visible size difference the 255 for the dsm is a smaller in tank style, but size in the case doesn;t matter. My buddie has a holley pump that looks just like my walbro. Per the rep from walbro the pumps are bought from a main manufacturer that many companys use but are built internally different. Our stock pumps don't flow nearly enough volume than the walbro pump. I have the 255 in my quest and it moves fuel like water out of a firehose. also the turbo or supercharged cougers used the same fuel pump as ours stock. Not sur of year though.
  5. Sweet, but you will still need the six hole adapter from momo or sparco or whoever for the steering wheel. If the quest ain't listed the 1g eclipse one is the same. Good luck
  6. I have heard those yellow tops burn up alts in hondas, but can't conferm and see no problem running them. I was actually planning on picking when up myself. My buddy had a yellow top in his SPL setup car and it worked flawless, I beleive he had 2200 watts of power in that boom box.
  7. Sorry to hear that man, but this is the wrong forum for this, You can file a complaint with paypal, I think they can get your maney. Check it out. Good Luck.
  8. I think I saw a widebody white quest with those type of decals on the side on the 2.6liter site.
  9. It looks to me like it can be savable, metal can be fixed with the proper know how. A body shop can make sure everything is strait and or realign parts you can't. don't let another quest die, please.
  10. It's called pin stripes, they make them in many different styles. I have seen pin stripes under clearcoat before too, maybe that's why it looks factory.
  11. Splitters and canyards do work, If you do alittle homework on aerodynamics you will know the benifit. I have made a splitter for my quest out of a fiberglass sheet from home depot. sealing up the bottom will help too. most of those mods function best at high speeds.
  12. touge? So you are going to japan to drift around on a mountan? anyway, ground control also makes coil overs, cusco also makes strut bars and camber plates,Suspension tech makes sway bars and springs. There are other members that make strut bars and camber plates. I believe the only TEIN part for the quest are the custom order race springs(made to your specs). You should really learn some high performance driving techniques first, Drifting isn't as easy as it looks when competing and it beats your car up good.
  13. Awsome, Can't wait to hear what you come up with. Are you doing this to get rid of the injection and comuter gremlins or just trying something different and making it better? I have also seen this done on a GTO here in town with a big block,1000cfm carb and centrifical supergarger.
  14. you might aswell import one, you will need a lot of parts to do the conversion, thinke about it steering, brakes, dash, clutch, ect. Not to mention all those parts would be on the HOT side of the motor, the aussie starion also had the 2.0L
  15. That can be found here http://www.geocities.com/johnfjamerson/ ,good luck.
  16. I think ottis at midwest can get the magna heads, not sure what he uses , have to check my old mails to see. I have the Alambama head, the new casting. It seems good so far, I had it race preped with the 3-angle job, full porting job, no JV. It was good work but I still had to do some more deburring on the head. They told me the new cast was desighned from the caravan head, they sent me used/cleaned up caps from the caravan style head.
  17. I spaced, I was talking about the bad ground in my 86 welding to itself, left that out. peace
  18. Yup, had the cable in my 86 tsi, it sucks, sucks more when it happens twice before you figure it out. This kid in my town with an 87 tsi I help out had the same thing happen.
  19. I think on the T-racing.com site he has most of the aftermerket heads listed and there specs.
  20. Pick up a painting book, theres techniqe to laying paint for real or do you have some expirience in painting/paint mixing? Prep work is key. It depends on time and how good or thorugh job you are doing as to how much stuff you want to take off and if you are doing the jambs. There are no body kits for the quest because it has a nice stock one. There is new 1 peice oem air dams, colt speed makes a front bumper and some place in austrailia has some wing and a kit,or air damn, you can put the old celica wings on. Some people do custom body mods. Nice job getting it running to many are getting junked nowadays. Pulling the airdamn is a complain, all the bolts on the bumper will sure be rusted good, you will probaly need new ones alot of water colects in the lower part of the bumper. How's the car's body?
  21. Nice pics, good job. How long did that take you? Thought about trying that, but never did on my quest. I bent up a peice of aluminum for the opening kinda like you ,but didn't use it.
  22. No offense, but all of you are just as bad as him for talking smack,He stoped posting because as soon as he tried something everyone told him it couldn't be done. Yes I think the graph is BS because he told me (issue with link),He has the resources and the know how.He could have been a valuable member to our site and the resources and people he works with are no joke. Not trying to be a d***,but it isn't right to gang up on someone and like I posted before I should be meeting up with BigmanDSM soon. I think this thread is dead now.How about someone post some of there dyno numbers. Peace
  23. If your looking the chepo way try AdvanceAutoParts.com, just look it up as a starion they cross refrence dodge with daytona parts and you will get the wrong stuff. They are pretty good about getting parts, depending what you get don't expect it to last longer than stock.
