I had a dsm do this to me after I rebuilt it, ran great but after I parked it it wouldn't restart. Long story short, one of the capacitors in the ecu failed and leaked fluid onto the circuit board causing enough damage to cause a no start condition. Good luck!!

I personally don't like the looks of the flatty If they didn't have the wide body version I don't think I would have ever purchased mine. But It is up to you, you'll be the one looking at it every day. Would you be getting it because it's the only starquest available?
-
I don't know if anybody remembers these, but a few years back I remember seeing a thread about some guy who had a set of starquest wheels custom enlarged to 17" does anybody know what happened to that guy, his car, those wheels, or the thread with pictures???

Looks great, what kind of suspension are you running? It's defiantly not stock, both of mine sit higher than that. Nice car man!

Tps also sends signal so your timing can be adjusted, my tps was off on my starquest, tried checking base timing and it was all over the place never stopped adjusting at idle and it should be solid at 10btdc. Did a tps reset and my ignition timing evened out and idled smoother and was much more crisp when accelerating. Just my experience though! -
4g63 is eclipse/talon/laser motor DOHC 2.0 some turbo some non. 4G64 is a SOHC 2.4 non turbo. When I was in the dsm world I would have loved a 4G64 block with 4G63 head and starquest drivetrain!! Instant 300hp with gobs of torque from the bigger bottom end. Good luck finding a 4G64 block, almost as rare as a shp starion lol there is one in a galant here in Oregon at the pick and pull for $400 in "unknown" condition.

....probably had Zero oil pressure if it was clear than maybe previous owner put lucas in it before you bought it as to cover up major problems. If it is "seized" I wonder what condition the oil pump is in....

Let's just hope the person driving was as honest as the op thinks he is....Takes a lot of neglect and abuse to blow a motor.

Sorry to hear that man I'm uneasy about letting someone drive my car.....let alone racing it around.... gajhh I can feel the anxiety just thinking about someone racing my car around then saying they parked it on the side of the road and that I need to trailer it home because it broke.... Blood pressure rising..... Lol

How's your compression? If the head gaskets leaky you'll never get it to idle right no matter how much you try.
-
Run it to a on/off toggle switch. Worked great for me when I did that on my 88

Good luck man that's a truly sexy car!
