  1. Thanks for all the great help. The problem is fixed. I sold it to a mechanic, who has been wanting one for a long time. So it has a good home.
  2. It does it when the engine is cold or hot and at any rpm.
  3. Car runs great then next time I start it, it runs too rich. Shut it off then restart it runs either better or great. Shut it off and I never know how its going to run next time I turn the key. Fuel pressure rmains the same. Could it be the MAF or injectors? It seems like a switch is being thrown.
  4. I still have the rims but the tires aes shot, $400 extra.
  5. http://s1115.photobucket.com/albums/k542/stonetree1/ Here are the pics, it needs new paint in places.
  6. I am in south east kansas. I can e-mail pics but can't figure out how to get my pics to upload correctly.
  7. For sale 1986 Conquest TSI Widebody. Copper in color with black leather and 5spd. I have replaced: fuel pump, fuel filters, exhaust manifold gaskets, cv boots(repacked joints), front wheel seals(packed the bearings), plug wires, plugs, belts, and a new Greddy bov all in the last 3 months. I have also installed fuel filter, tie rod end, ball joint, half the fusible links(just looked old), hard pipes, oil sending unit and I forget what else. Looks like the balance shafts have been eliminated along with egr stuff and whatever else that dead weight. A/C and heater works. Has newer style MAF and autometer boost gauge. Comes with the following spare parts: intercooler, rebuildable turbo and misc parts which I have bought on this sight that will not fit an 86. I am selling it because some of the parts that were bought on this sight will not fit this car. I don't mind buying parts if they will work, but no more buying anymore parts from here and hoping I will get the right part and waiting weeks to get the wrong part. The car ran great until the 1st of the year when all of a sudden it started to run for 10 second intervals and die. I think its either the knock box or the MAF. I have a supposedly 86 MAF sensor and an supposedly 86 MAF pigtail to convert it back to original, but of course they do not match so I can't try that out. I paid for a knock box, that I have never received and am still waiting for a refund. So if a person could find the RIGHT parts they would have a great running car. It was my daily driver until this happened and now I have given up on finding the correct parts. It's yours for $1,250. I had some pics and will post as soon as I can find them.
  8. Needing a good working igniter or knock box for an 86 conquest.
  9. Looking for a good working knock sensor for an 86 conquest. Also looking for the pigtail for the MAF.
  10. Switched injectors with the spares and would not even start. Checked sparkplugs- black soot all over them. Time to get injectors cleaned or replaced and plugs also. How much for an igniter?
  11. Is the igniter the same thing as the coil, do you have a part # or picture of it? Also I don't have a sensor in my aftermarket OVCP. Could that be a problem? It ran good without one and I don't see a place to mount one. Is there a way to test the MAP?
  12. I was thinking the same thing so I changed the values and came up with the same results. Next I used another meter and still got the same reults. Either I am really bad at using these meters or I got bigger problems. Great minds think alike.
  13. Not yet, I don't have the 86 pigtail yet. Can the MAS quit just like that? If so it sounds like I need to find a pigtail ASAP. Definetly is worth a try. Thanks.
