  1. compairing it to a 83 stock and modifed and scotty's turbo's 2.6 truck. the car feels very sluggish coming off the line. it's going to get inspected today so maybe after a nice drive and more fresh gas i'll see if anything changes
  2. not sure what it is only driven 5 speeds in these cars. motor seems fine in park and neutral. mostly just wondering if it's normal for a auto car to take off so slow. i do have one question is the timing set at the same point as the manuals? i know 3.90's will help but thats not at the top of my list right now. tires
  3. cars very sluggish below 3100 rpms wont go over 2k rpms with the gas padel smashed and foot on the brake. takes off very slow from a stop no matter how much gas you give it. now the fool mix of my know parts in it good 87 short block new trilogy injectors new injector clips 83 head 18g turbo since the 12a had a cracked housing but starts making boost at about 2300 rpms on the stock gauge full boost on gauge before 3k msd blaster 2 coil new cap and rotor above 3k rpms the car screams and seems like a normal starquest. there's just no power below that. was told tranny was rebuilt about 1k miles before the motor went. tranny shifts great from 1 to 3 havn't tried OD yet. new setup was put in completely stock

  5. i had a 86 turbo coupe that i was planing on swaping the motor into my ranger. that motor felt vary strong in that tbird. only issue i would watch out for is the fuel rail. alot of people pull them off and then screw up the orings on the injectors and they start pissing fuel everywhere.

  11. not sure if this will help and i dont understand why it helped with the this 88 i have here but it did. i put new trilogy injectors and some new clips on and primed the fuel pump off the test port. but the car would just crank and crank not even try to fire. looked at the injectors they weren't firing. poured some gas in the tb and started the car that way but after a few seconds the car started running on it's own and will fire up every time that way now.
  12. had the same problem with my ovcp to tb coupler it got a small hole in it on the bottom where i couldn't see it and would open under boost and run like crap but once off boost the hole closed and the car ran fine.
  13. went to the parts store to get parts for my buddy to put in his sentra got afew things but the main thing was spark plugs. now i never have had issue's with buying spark plugs before so i just grabbed them and ran since i was in a hurry and trying to trouble shot the car. get to the car pull the old plugs out and went to gap the new ones. well the first 1 i pulled out was used. so wt.... check the rest and there all used also. i grabbed the old plugs off the car and the used ones i just bought. so i get back to the store and start talking to the gay jamaican that sold me the plugs and tried to start a fight with me about exchanging used plugs for new ones. so we get the manager and she starts trying to pull the same crap. so i pulled the plugs out of my pocket and said look i just want new plugs and here are the ones i just pulled out of the engine you can still smell the gas on them. so they pull 3 full sets of used plugs off the shelf before getting me a new set. while i was going to school in nashville i applied for a job at autozone. i get a interview with the manager so we go in the back and start the interview. normal crap about why you want the job and blah blah blah. so he asks me to name some parts of a engine. ok so it my time to shine i reply with what kind of engine I4 I6 v6 v8 rotory v10 v12 v16 or radial. so he's got this dumbfounded look on his face and says v8. so i reply again with sohc, ohv or dohc. so he still has the stupid look on his face so i decide to chose for him and start naming off parts and he's still got the look on his face. after i get done naming parts he says thanks you i'll let you know. afew weeks pass and i blew the power valve in my holley and go there and get a rebuild kit. the manager is working the counter and i ask him about the job since there's 2 new guys working there now. he looked at me and said you know to damn much and that might be a problem with customers and what the hell is a v16 or radial

  15. 243k on the bottom end spun rod. 176k out of the original oil only turbo and 180k out of the head

  17. where's the list of stolen parts? who really cares if it's made in china the cars where made right next door in japan. i see no copy rights on any of the parts he makes for us. and if you look at kelly as a good vender thats a load of crap my 2.5 exhaust came rusted in the box, crappy welds and didn't fit right and his costumer service is crap. the cars been in the USA for 26 years there aren't that many fresh idea's left that someone else hasn't thought about. i respect you but untell you show the stolen idea's, copy rights, and parts i dont respect your rant on this.
  18. so while your both at it why dont you both call out all venders that make stuff or want to make stuff for these cars. thats why no one really wants to make stuff for these cars since they get called out on everything they try to do.

  20. ford 4 bolts from the 80's fit and also 70's 240z's and early 80's 280z's. thats what i know off hand
  21. with the I/C install you dont have to cut anything the pipes fit fine http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b128/klinkzor/LABOR_DAY_002.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b128/klinkzor/helpforicpiping.jpg now my cars 2.5 years older then any intercooled car but all holes where there. you will have to move the radiator over flow like said before and get a intercooled turbo or housing. the oil cooler lines will also need to be bent alittle if you dont use the intercooled lines but not much. i did my install with all the factory parts from a 87. only needed the hose's,brackets and IC. if you have any questions feel free to ask there's a few of us that have done it and didn't cut anything.

  23. got a 86 flatty from Monty and the cars in better shape then he said it was in my book. he even gave me a very clean 88 automatic :eek1bluegreen: a great guy to deal with.
  24. that car's got a lot of linkage so it could be a lot of things squeaking
