  1. yeah, he won't even show the car in the snow, So we are waiting to meet for a week, maybe more. We will be towing any car back, my father has a business acccount at the rental max down the street for his old house building company, so we can get a 15 or 20 foot trailer for cheap. For the undercoating, is there any prep I need to do? do they just spray the assembled undercarriage? like springs, shocks, struts, exhust, ect? or do they usually disassemble? I would think that just spraying an assembled undercarriage would affect suspension, engine and exhaust parts' functions..
  2. babies... we just got 10 inches... on top of the 4 inches we had...
  3. can't make that thing quite, its coming out of the front fenders cause they are open headers with piping going a few inches to the fender...
  4. yeah, I couldn't make it I did get to get some snowboarding/jibbin in though, so it was a good day (didnt have to use my AK, so today was a good day lol) anyways, I was browsing and found this conquest. I contacted the guy a few weeks ago when he had it up but never replied. I emailed him again, but does anyone know who's car this is? its a KILLER deal, and would leave me with 2k+ to put into the car once I got it. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/cto/1543863560.html only problem I see is having to transfer the title since its cross state, but thats just a matter of a hundred bucks on extra on top of normal registration fees i think to register a car in another state. But yeah, anyone know who's selling it?
  5. yeah its my first rear wheel drive, I owned a CJ7 jeep for a few years but i only drove it twice since I sold it a few weeks after I got my permit. Other than that I've driven family cars: 01 Expidition AWD and I mostly drive our 07 BMW X3. Now that I have my licence though, my dad won't let me drive it lol. And yeah, taking the quest into the snow is gonna hurt, but it will get an undercarriage wash once a week if not more. If I could, Id pick up one of the early model lifted trucks that go up on CL for 1k or whatever, but 1k is a lot for me until I have a full time job in the summer, and 1k could do a lot on the quest too. Plus my dad wouldn't pay to insure a second car for me, and I can't really afford to insure it myself AS OF RIGHT NOW. I may possibly be able to by next winter, but I doubt it. the Quest will get weekly washes all year round though.
  6. alright, Ill try my best to get out there tomorrow. and yeah, any particular car I get is going to get weekly undercarriage washes to keep the salt and road grime off. Ill see about ABS after driving it next winter, and seeing if it's worth keeping for me. and also, I didn't know that about the emissions, I always though Illinois had strict emissions until it reached 20 years old. Thats good to know though, I can get rid of the stock exhaust when I replace it then, haha.
  7. yeah, I don't mind the interior as much as others lol. I would slowly convert it to black though. And yes, the low mileage and clean-ness through out is what caught my eye. what kind of price do you think its worth? or i guess I should say is what should i pay for it? And also, are the 87's void to pass emissions because they are over 20 yrs old? And last, since this is my only car, it will also be my winter car. I'm prepared to drive carefully and I'm definitely getting an extra set of wheels for snow tires, but wouldn't I want to keep ABS for the winter and snow? or am I better off taking them off and just learning to not lock up the brakes? sorry for all the questions, trying to learn still, haha.
  8. ahhh interesting, Ill see if I can get over there! I doubt I can on such short notice, but ill try! Also, of coarse, here's some info: 79,000 miles. garage stored during winters, never driven in snow and has never met road salt. 60k tune up performed by a mitsubishi specialist, new clutch 2 years ago and new injectors and clips last year. He's only driven it 2100 miles in the 5 years he's owned it, so all the new parts are still basically new. Here are the photo's he sent me, hosted on my photobucket: http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc92/pocketrocket1331/conquest%20at%20111th%20and%20harlem/ I'm not a big fan of the maroon, but it's too clean to pass up. I told him I'm gonna look at it and test drive it when the weather is permitting. I also told him that he should contact me if anyone else is gauging fair interest as I would then look at it, test drive it, and if all is well, buy it even with the weather like this. I have the money lined up but he would rather keep the car garaged right now then allow test drives with the snow and salt, and I understand that. I'm hoping to talk him down to 4k, but if I have to 4500 could happen too.
  9. Possibly, what time? although I don't have it yet, I'm waiting until most of the snow is gone to pick it up from the current owner. Also, just FYI, I'm 16 so until I pick this car up I'd be in my dad's expedition lol. Ill dip by the meets section though, especially when I get the car home! thanks for the reply
  10. yeah, so is anyone around the chicago area? specifically the western suburbs? I'm in Downers Grove. I'm picking up my new SQ when the weather permits (not 1 foot of snow) and in the spring time it'd be cool to meet up with a fellow SQ guy and maybe possibly even possibly to learn from? thanks! -Justin
  11. did you spray-can the whole car the fiji blue? and how much did the paint cost? did you clearcoat it? Looks good
  12. WOW, if I could afford it right now, I'd buy this. I'm picking up my SQ next week, Ill see how much money I have left over, it depends how much I can talk the guy down. If i have 550 by then, then you will have a buyer P.S. I don't know why anyone hasn't bought this, it baffles me
  13. tech: thanks! yeah, I was about to buy an 86 SVO mustang I found when this SQ popped up and I was like CLEAN, CLEAN, MINE. haha. As for the coilover's, what kit would you guys suggest? I was looking at the ground control kit, but what shocks/struts would you recommend with a kit like that? Also, I hear the GC kits need a little modifying to work well, is that true? if so, is there a kit that works really well out of the box? I have no problem modifying, I just need to make sure I know what I'm doing then when I modify the kit or anything else because I'm 16 and I can't have the car sitting in the shop for more than a few days (by shop I mean the MIDAS shops I have access to as my dad owns a pair of them. I don't mean it as in having someone else do the work, This car is going to be my pride and joy and I want to do ALL the work on it). I plan On running the stock wheels on it for a long time, because that 1k in aftermarket wheels can go towards more important things, and plus 1k is a 2-3 months working for me, so new wheels are like mid list hah) Psu: that sounds awesome, I'll have to look into a set up like that. I was planing on a *DM turbo back 3" system, So a muffler is the only thing i still need to decide on. I like that flow master, although I'm still juggling the idea of that SLP Powerflo muffler (not the LM resonators). thanks for all the input guys!
  14. hmm, ok ill look into some other stuff like that then too. Im picking up my conquest this week its all completely original, so I figured exhaust, FMIC, and coilovers where the first to get thrown on. I would normally say get to a 100% solid working order, but this thing is already clean as hell. 79,000 miles, stored winters, zero rust, ect. heres the pics i took when i went to check it out: http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc92/pocketrocket1331/conquest%20at%20111th%20and%20harlem/ this thing is CLEAN. 4000 bucks
  15. hmm, do you have a video of your car quickconq? I know it won't sound anything like the stangs, but I figured it would still sound a lot throaty-er than anything like HKS or Aspec, ect
  16. well, call me crazy, but I've always wondered what a muscle car based muffler/resonator would sound like on our little 4 bangers. Specifically, Ive been interested in SLP's powerflo mufflers and loudmouth resonators http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=310301226 http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=310301660AM this is what the resonators sound like on a V6.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=106fk-d11F8 How do you think they would sound on an SQ? I think it would have great tone. the mufflers are quieter, but there arent many videos of them. here is a video of the mufflers on a v8... thoughts? -Nude
  17. technology, I was doing just that When I get the car I hope to clean it up and get running tip top shape and lookin good. Then I hope to get a nice big FMIC, full hard piping, 3" exhaust, wideband and all the nice monitoring systems like an electric boost controller (probably the NEO since it has a piggyback fuel system on it), coilovers, wheels, and then start piecing together an MPI and nice big, quick spooling street turbo
  18. hey guys hows it going? I never noticed this thread before, sorry bout that lol. Thanks for all compliments, I too love my name! Grazel, xXNudeLobsterXx is my xbox live name, but 2 of the best names Ive seen where flimsy uterus and twisted scrotum. flimsy uterus was the best cause it was a big ol' black guy lol. Thanks for the welcome guys, I appreciate it! Im sure once I pick up a nice Starquest, that Ill be on here A LOT more, as it will be my second car, but the car that i will have with my license
