  1. Awesome. I'll probably show up to the meet, even though I haven't owned a mitsu in years.
  2. I've been playing the beta, when it's up, the past few months. game was pre ordered 2 months ago. If any of you play, PM me once it's out so we can go pwn some n00bs together. heh
  3. Grey, 100%. Grey with black windows and black rims = pure hottness. I'd either do a tiny bit of flake or none at all. Take this opinion srsly; I logged in just to comment.
  4. Looks like win. Frumrolls for all of the twin cities area people!
  5. I've had 4 of these cars. Odds are the tranny is pretty worn out. I haven't followed that link, so unless he specifically mentions that it shifts great, you will have problems with it. Make sure all 4 axles are good - granted they aren't that hard or expensive to replace . The rear end may be worn depending on if it's a 3 bolt of 4 bolt. 4 bolt is what you'd want. Other than that, it's basically your run of the mill old mitsubishi turbo car. Check shaft play, oil leakage, vacuum leaks, etc. Engine itself is probably still great...hard to break a stock 4g63.
  6. ^This. If you decide to get one, don't just toss it in and start turning knobs.
  7. Great job! Even though I don't own one right now, it's always good to hear there's another quest rollin' on the streets of Minnesota :-D
  8. Probably my first quest, '87. I think part of the reason I miss it so much is that it I learned to wrench on that car, and it taught me tons of things about working on cars. When it was broke, I (mostly) learned to fix it. When it ran, I could credit myself (and a lot of SQC online for help!) for fixing it. It was rare, fast (to me), and had my blood, sweat and tears in it. Had a good amount of fun with my '95 Prelude VTEC also. Well...a lot of run until the oil pump went out
  9. I first learned to drive stick in my buddy's AWD '95 Eclipse GSX. He told me to rev it to around 6k and just dump the clutch. I refused to do it until he did it like 3 times in a row. That was the start of it. Translate a similar style to the quest when I first bought it (not literrally, but still aggresive) and it was tire-spin city the first couple hours, haha :-D. Took a day or two to get it around town without making an idiot out of myself at every stop. I honestly don't remember how long it took me to REALLY get it right.
  10. Yikes. To each their own I suppose, but you'll get more power and do it safely by tuning through wideband or by a pro.
  11. Do you have a wideband you are monitoring and using to tune? Seat of the pants tuning can be pretty dangerous. I'd be very cautious doing that - don't want things to go boom now!
  12. "lol" at this becoming an LCD vs Plasma debate, heh. I realized I can hack my XBOX analog output cable (not sure if that's the right word, it's the 3 RCA output cord) to fit into the back while the HDMI cable is in there for my TV. Microsoft decided to make an enourmous casing for the male connector of that cable, so the original design doesn't allow you to run both HDMI output and RCA outputs. That's total fail if you want to run the RCA outputs to a stereo like me. Of course, new problem arose when I tried to connect to XBOX live. Turns out my ethernet cable is kind of a POS. Getting this TV/XBOX was like starting mods on a car. Everytime you do something, you find out there's a new problem to fix, haha! Good thing it's winter...
  13. What he said^ Almost anything you go buy in this country that somebody else makes for you has TONS of sodium in it. Most forms of fast food and stuff made at alot of sit-down restaurants are loaded with sodium. Good news is that all food "sellers" have to list their nutritional facts somewhere. The internet has TONS of this information and you can do a ton of research before buying. But, like Fanta said, just stay away from preprocessed foods and you've won half the battle. Some sites: http://www.nutritiondata.com/ http://www.calorieking.com/foods http://fitday.com/ - this is great for tracking your daily intake of everything
  14. I finally joined the modern times and bought myself a fairly respectable TV. Went to Best Buy last night to look at some TVs and ended up seeing a deal I couldn't pass up. 42" Panasonic Viera 720p Plasma TV WITH an XBOX 360 Elite console, plus a free game (along with the 2 it already came with) for 699.99. I decided to get Call of Duty 4: MW 2 while I was there, and also a surge protector and the necesary HDMI cable. With a 2 year plan on the TV, I walked out of the store just a hair over $1000. More than I was originally looking to initially spend, but after the xbox and is factored in, I got a pretty good deal, I think. To compare, my old TV was a tube-style 19" that I got as a gift about 8 years ago. Maybe older...but it sucked and I lost the remove years ago too. So this TV is a HUGE upgrade for me :-D Now I just have to find a way to get my stereo system hooked up to the xbox. The TV lacks proper audio outlets, so to listen to the stereo i'll have to run it through the XBOX - but I'll need to find some kind of converter cable or something. Not sure yet, as I haven't got to tinker with it much. But after I fine tune the little things on the TV and console, set my room up a bit different, and figure out my sound, then I'll have quite the gaming/movie set up!
  15. I think both Vikings and Saints fans believe A) It will be us in the NFC Championship, and B ) It will be an awesome game. Who's going to win it is the question - and can they beat the AFC champs?
  16. No one has mentioned Porsche yet? They could handle both price categories while at it.
  17. Holy CRAP THAT'S AMAZING!! To quote one 'review': Wow is this thing great! I use it as a "mini-bar" when the friends and I go out to the bars. I can quickly fix multiple shots of tequila for myself and the friends as we drive from one bar to the next. We also discovered that if you place a pillow on top of it and turn on the cruise control you can catch quick naps on the interstate. If you swerve to the left or right the rumble strips on the road wake you up in plenty of time before you get into trouble. I can now take longer trips without being tired! Also, i am now dating a midget and she fits nicely on the steering wheel desk which allows us to experiment sexually while driving. This thing is like WD-40 or duct tape, it is a million and one uses! L-O-L-!
  18. Boooooooo! Down with the saints! Haha. Don't get me wrong. I hate the pats almost as much as I hate the yankees...and I suuuuuuuure hate me some yankees! But being from MN and consequently a Vikes fan, the saints are the only thing in our way of the big game - least, many of us think so. It'll be fun times when we meet in the playoffs.
  19. Heck, I did that on purpose. Beards are amazing no matter how you swing it. Time to man up and release your inner Canadian.
  20. Well, with the current engine already done and in the car (running), why bother with a swap? Both engines are good for what you want to do I'd think. Personally, I'd eat the torque the g54b serves me everyday and smile without ever thinking about the 2.4
  21. Found a picture of my beard at the longest. This was at the beer festival: Fanta; you must never shave again.
  22. CURSE THIS WORK-PICTURE FILTER!! I commend any beard growing attempts. I'm an avid fan. I sported a 6 inch jawline beard w/ mustache up until October. People called me Amish and I was entered into a beard growing competition by Wahl at a beer festival in Denver. Good times =)
  23. Blegh. Give me overwhelming hops, or give me death. Ales are delicious I hate hard alcohol. How one can sip on a liquid that is in the neighborhood of 50% pure alcohol is beyond me. I don't even like mixed drinks, as I can taste the booze extremely clearly no matter how dilute it is. The only exception is taking shots, which I hardly ever do anymore - but when that's the case, who cares what it tastes like; it's going down too fast! Water is still what I drink the most though. Usually a gallon a day, but sometimes I slack on that Hydration is good: embrace it!
  24. Bump for price lower to $3999. If anyone knows somebody that'd be interested, please let them know!
  25. Right after high school I got into lifting pretty heavily. After a year I realized you need to adjust your diet to make real gains, and after about 1.5 years of that I hit my highest stats: 6'3", 196lbs, roughly 12% BF. I think I was squatting around 295 for 6-8 reps at my peak. Bench was never very impressive, but max would have been around 225 repped 6 times probably. Problem was, I was an idiot. I almost never did warm ups and didn't usually stretch. My lower back hurt all the time, I kept pulling muscles in my upper back, and my shoulders kept getting hurt. After college, I dropped down to 180 or so or even lower, didn't check my BF but i know it went up to around 14-15. I have terrible bone structure with my shoulders and I'm very ectomorphic so it's extremely hard for me to gain weight. I had to eat 4300+ calories before I'd start to gain weight back in college. I keep trying to get back into lifting/dieting but I guess I lost my discipline. I'm not even 24 yet and I still feel like i'm already out of my "glory days", haha. I have been lifting lately though, and my weight is closer to upper 180s again. Shoulders are still a big problem, but by stretching and doing warm ups I finally got rid of my back problems. Sometimes i wish my metabolism wasn't so darn quick. I can eat beer, pizza, wings, and not go to the gym and I'll barely notice any negative impact on my body composition. That's cool, but it's an easy excuse to NOT eat right. Also, i'm underweight as it is, so if I do cardio I just lose more weight. Sure, i'll be more cut and have a stronger heart, but I'll look even thinner than I already am.
