  1. I manage a body shop and every thing that was said is true. They are all a%$ h#@$. Most of the appraisers I know are okay but, the insurance companies they work for will dictate to the appraisers how there estimates should be writen. It's unfortunate, because in the body shop business, the insurance companies need the shops more than the shops need them and yet they want to control how the vehicle gets repaired. Which of course favors the insurance company and not the actual repair of the vehicle but, you already knew that. You wanna know who the worst ones are???

  20. Hey, does any one have an extra decent battery hold down bracket?? I've searched e-bay, found one but, missed the bidding. Haven't seen one since. That was months ago. Would be glad to get one, it's the last stock item I need to complete my 87 Conquest. I may need your help on this, (in reguard to reply's). I'm still very green with all the sight functions. So if there's a bracket to be had. Explain to me how to go about getting it. Thanks. :confused0024:
  21. If you want to see a really good Conquest sighting, rent a movie called NO MANS LAND. Maybe some one already discovered this one. Staring Charlie Sheen & D.B. Sweeny, the plot is Sheen boosts Porsche's, strips them, changes vin's, etc. Being new at this, I haven't figured out how to post a pic but, I'll explain. The seen is, Sheen takes Sweeny to a location to grab a Porsche, most likely a restaurant because of the valet parking. As they pull in and park, the camera scans the parking lot. In plain view, you'll see a rear view of a 86 or 87 Conquest, light blue in color. Now, knowing this you can all sleep better a night. The movie over all isn't bad. Car flick. Even if there grabing Porsche's. Later on in the same seen, a white Conquest or Starion, skids to avoid Sweeny as he's running from the valet's. I just realized, I have way to much time on my hands. :sweatingitout:
  22. Just want to say thanks for some great information, was able to get my third Conquest running with the help of the Vertual Mechanic. Along with that, I met some really great folks at Chrysler Carlisle last summer. Sorry I took so long to join the club, I've lived in a cave for years, finally entered the computer age this month. Currently I own a white 89 TSI auto, purchased new, just shy of 6500 miles, a red 87 TSI 5sp, nice presentable driver, needs re-paint & a light blue 85 flatbody 5sp, resoration in progress. All are unique & a challenge. Again, thanks for a great club & great help. :character0269:
