  5. So I let the car warm up for 20 mintues, drove it down the street 3 miles or so. Parked and let it run for 5 mins. Then got back in to drive back home and next thing I know getting into boost its starts to backfire and sputtering. I'm gonna run a check on the error codes when I get home today. Could the culprits be the Secondary injector, or FPR?
  6. All vaccum lines were accounted for and in the correct location. I would have to check around the wastegate area. The vaccum lines all look like they are in good condition. But a second look wouldnt hurt.
  7. Yea I'm sure the TPS is as same age as the car. The housing of the wires on the TPS are starting to split where they come out of the actual sensor. So? I will pick up a VM this weekend to check it out. Professor still selling the TPS sensors?
  8. So yesterday I finished up rebuilding the TB and wiring up new injector clips. Throttle response is way better with the new injector clips (old clips where on there last leg) .The hesitation is still there though. Its starts to hesitate once I get going and when I keep it at a constant roll... Any ideas? TPS? Thanks! -Matt
  9. Count me In on a radio kit with gauges above the radio.
  10. Don't feel bad man... You got the sleeper affect, same with my DSM, its putting down close to 500HP with stock suspension, wheels, tires and a peeling clear coat... But everyone will know where all the money went. So what the hell why not...
  11. I got a dump tube on my DSM, you will know when boost kicks in, all 30 psi of it, and when my anti-lag is turned on flames shoot out from underneath the car.... Its cool for a little while and there is a power gain from it but I like to hear just turbo spool. So it will be getting switched out with one that re-circulates. I can post pics of it when I get home.
  12. If anyone has a copy of the 88 mitsu shop manual for the starquests could you please email it to me? My email is expert612@yahoo.com. Thanks fellas!
  13. ok cool. Thats the kind of answer I was looking for, I know that HG's, turbos, and all that other stuff are common items that wear out over time. Thanks technology!
  14. Here a question for you guys, what's the most common serious problem with the starquest cars that I should know and be prepared for?
  15. I am located in Hampton,VA near Virginia Beach area. Ill make sure to keep the peanut butter close incase I spin a bearing. I'm sure that'll help with my muffler bearing issue too (jk).
  16. Whats up guys im Matt, I am a new enthisuast for the starquest community. I have built and destroyed many DSMs (still own one more currently), owned a few mustangs and just recently sold my SC'd S2K. Just bought an 88 starquest 147,00 miles (engine rebuilt at 92,000 miles) last Friday to have something to drive back and forth to work. I have found some minor issues with the car such as, a brown tarnish around the TB, the steering is super sloppy, and after a recent rainy day I found water on the driverside floor board (the car was parked all day that day). I have ordered all new injector seals and TB rebuild kit to solve the brown tarnish around the TB area. If you guys have an input on any of this or some other things I should inspect/replace that would be great. I have checked some of the newbee sticky's and searched some info, just looking for other ways to improve this car and get it running the way it should. Thanks fellas!!!
