  1. Would like to get a set of salvage injectors to have rebuilt so i have a spare set. i want oem injectors, any one know any sources?
  2. Your sloppy steering is probably due to a bad rag joint going to your steering box. Dad has replacements for 100 bucks of so. Its a pain of a job if you don't have a lift, but possible with two peeps. I had to do one on my car. The pins in the steering column come out with magents by the way lol. Had to figure that out the hard way too.
  3. Im sure there could be things that are shorting them out, but if they were grounding out or shorting out I wouldn't think the car would run properly ya know? I would try a set of new injectors and see what happens. Its only your green injector taking a dump? Buy a new greenie and see what happens, if it goes then your problem is elsewhere. Can;t think of anything that would do that tho expecially since the car is running well.

  5. I switched my injectors harnesses just to check it out to see if it would run that way. It idles fine that way I never drive it that way but. maybe your injectors isnt stuck open, maybe they are leaking down real bad when you turn the car off? Is your FPR stock?
  6. Yea i forgot to post that I already have a BOV and a hard pipe for the OVCP pipe. I will do the wastegate mod too. The car is running well. I also have an aftermarket cold air induction kit with the KN, no stock airbox and the scondary airbox has already been removed sorry, forgot all of that stuff lol.
  7. Yea I dumped the accel in favor of a stocker for know. I was having hesitation probs and thought the coil was the culprit, turned out it wasn't. I think I will work on exhuast next and go with the 2.5 inch exhuast with a 3 inch downpipe. Any recommendations on an aftermarket muffler or should I stick swith the stock unit?
  8. Thanks for all of the info I just want to be in the 200 to 210 HP range. If I push the boost up to 12 ya think that would help or what other mods do yall recommend? And thats crank horsepower I am looking for not RWHP

Heres what I got Motor rebuild w 20k on the clock 1989 motor and ecu BSE Kit completed Jet Valves eliminated AC removed KN Airfilter/cold air induction kit Accel Coil All new ignition and fuel components(NGK plugs as recommended with .40 - .39 gap, stock fuel pressure) 10.5 lbs of boost from 12a Precat and cat removed, stock exhuast otherwise. BOV Valve Hard pipe OVCP No secondary airbox I was hoping that I was getting about 210 horsepower? Is that too much to ask? Or what lol.

  11. So I am working on my quest right, replacing those jet valves with an elimination kit. I just aquired the car about a month or so ago. Anyhow I pull the valve cover and take a looksee and boy am I suprised that I could eat outta there its so clean (engine was rebuilt at 20k). So I do the elim kit and Im checking the valve lash and a few appear to outta whack. So I guess nobody adjusted em since the rebuilt lol. Any how I figured I would clean the K&N in the car and I pull it out and take a look. What do I find? Holes drilled into the bottom of the plastic part which holds the filter together. About 20 of em. I guess this was the prior owners idiot mod to increase airflow. All he succeded doing was bypassing the airfilter. What a doush. Anyhow I also noticed that the pipes from my turbo are crap and I need to replace them. Any suggestions on where I can find new piping. I don't need hard pipes I am looking for soft pipes with a grey color. Anyhow I just wanted to poll the audience and see if anyone else found any other idiot mods done to their cars when they got em? I want to know just how deep the stupidity runs in america lol.
  12. Thanks I appreciate that. The engine was rebuilt 20k ago and I guess no one ever adujusted the lifters after the rebuild. It rattles alot from certain rockers so I know the valve lash on those is not right. Ill save your post for future reference so I know how to do it again. Confirming they need to be adjusted every 10k miles?
  13. I got them out without removing the rocker assembly with a hand rachet. I dont have hydralic valves I dont believe, It appears that I have solid lifters, but they are out anyhow and we are installing the elimination kit as I type, can you advise the celarance for solid lifters on the exhuast and intake sides?
  14. Now that I have my valve cover off I notcied I have solid lifters in the car. Can anyone tell me what the intake and exhuast clearance should be for the lifters? I noted that I have 3 or 4 that do not appear to be in adjustment? Thanks again, I tried the search engine but I didn't find anything?
  15. I am about to do this mod to the car and I just need a quick run down or a post to the link of how to do it. I see that they appear to screw into the head, do I just need to put a socket on them and unscrew them or do they need to be compressed first or what?

  17. I got a better idea, lets have foose do some drawings lol, im sure hell jump all over that. Anyhow, Im all for seeing one. I would rather see the back seats eliminated and the vehicles turned into a two seat roadster hatchback with a targa top option. I like the 4 cyclinder, but would prefer to see a v6 dohc engine with a large turbo, something along the lines of the buick GN. Instead of having a 5 speed manual, a six speed would be in order with a close ratio tranny. That would make a fast car right off of the showroom floor. Instead of a large turbo maybe two small sequential turbos like toyota did with the supra. I love the body style, just would like it to be smaller and lighter. If we want to have a new quest, why not take all of the good stuff from all the other manufacturers and incorporate it into the new car? The car was very advanced for its time, too bad they didn't see fit to make a stock MPI version. The car is a littel heavy for my taste too.

  19. Intermittant spark, I would check the dist cap and rotor as well as the ignition coil. Those are some simple ignition components. I would also check all your connections for your ignition coil and and battery to make sure you are gettin enough juice.
  20. Well I had a high low idle problem with mine to the point it would stall out. I disconnected my ISC and it ran like a champ. Do these cars really need the ISC since the TPS sensor handles the throttle position for the ECU? I dunno, would like to know if they do because I still have a little hesitation on accel and I was wondering if a bad ISC will do this. I have been told that the ISC does three things, its a servo motor for thorttle position, it has a motor position sensor in it and a third sensor which I forgot about.
  21. I hate my job. I'm a cop and my job stinks. Low pay, crappy hours, chance of death, stepping on brains at a suicide, you know the fun stuff. Pays the bills tho, 20 years till retirement. Then I am gonna go back to school and learn how to paint and customize cars for a living. That I would enjoy doing, make something amazing from nothing.
