  1. I searched a little bit to see if I could find a related thread but I didn't (although I'll bet one exists). Anyway, I would like to clean my engine and engine compartment and am looking for some suggestions. The car always starts (knock on wood) and I haven't had many problems. I can try pressure washing but I'm not sure I want to because these cars can be "fickle" and I don't want to screw up a good thing just to clean the engine. Last thing I need is a car that looks good but wont start :sweatingitout: I'm not asking for a step by step procedure, just some thoughts on your experiences cleaning the engine compartment. Thanks. Rich
  2. I dont need the doors, but might be interested in the hinges for both doors. How much?
  3. Dave, Looking for solid door hinges for both doors. Prefer black or gray. Let me know if you have anything. Rich
  4. How about some pictures of the sunroof and interior ?
  5. Just search a month or so back in this forum. There is a thread that deals with this subject. (pages 3,4, and 6). Rich
  6. Just so I'm sure, if the center brake light is working and the rear wiper is not, I need to look beyond the hatch alignment for my wiper problem? I'm pretty sure the wiper motor works and I adjusted the hatch this morning and the center brake light now works. I guess I'm off to the switch.... Rich
  7. Nice addition !! I bought mine with lambo doors already installed by the prior owner. I cant quite get them perfectly adjusted and the drivers side shock recently died on me so the door don't stay up by itself anymore (to be fixed for sure). When I go anywhere and open the door people certainly notice. The downside is that they (mine anyways) don't work very well if the car is not level when I open them. Neither one wants to stay up and they can be pretty heavy when facing uphill. Since its not a daily driver and I don't have to open them everyday, I suppose I will just have to "suffer" through and make the best of it.
  8. I had a similar problem when I bought my 88. Turns out my valve cover just wasn't tight. Rich
  9. Others have discussed the car so I wont other than to say I probably paid too much for mine as well. I don't care because I got the car I wanted. I thought about checking into specialty insurance but haven't done so yet. The one company I know of is Grundy (www.grundy.com). I have never dealt with them, but I believe they specialize in collector, antique and street rods. You buy insurance from them based on an "agreed to" value for the vehicle. I have no idea how reasonable they are. Perhaps others have had some experience? Rich
  10. Willing to part with the rear shelf panel ( I think that is what its called) on the red one? If so, how much? Rich
  11. Thanks for the info. Rich
  12. My wipers quit working a couple of weeks ago. I bought a new wiper motor from LePore. I hooked it up and it appears to work fine. The intermittent, slow and fast speeds all work, and in each setting the arm on the motor appears to park correctly. It looks to me like the wiper motor is working the way its supposed to. When I hook the motor to the wiper linkage the wipers move really slow. It takes about 6-7 second for the wipers to cycle one time. Its pretty obvious that the motor is laboring to move the wipers. This was the same problem I had with the original wiper motor before it quit. Anyone have any suggestions why this is happening ? Rich

I'll take the front wiper motor if it works. Rich
  14. I am also looking for a black right lever that adjusts the seat backward and forward for the passenger side for an 88 starion. I am also looking for: 1. a black lumbar (?) seat adjuster for the drivers seat (the adjuster facing the passenger seat half way up), 2. rear hatch windshield reservoir, 3. rear windshield wiper motor, 4. passenger side rear view mirror glass (the unit works but the glass itself is cloudy) Rich ( a newbie)
  15. Hi, I'm a new member located just down the road from you in Meadville. Wish I would have joined the club a couple months ago. Bought an 88 starion in July. Had it shipped from Miami. I'd like to find a parts car, but this is way too nice for that. I'll try to convince my wife she needs one too! The biggest problem is that I don't have enough garage space for a second one. Without cover, NW PA winters will kill it. Nice car, worth the money. If I can convince her to at least take a look, we will make arrangements to look at it. Rich
