  1. Are you talking the a/c tensioner pulley? If so let me know, I have one. Scott
  2. I've just started to part out a car and have 2 brand new keys for the doors and gas cap. (of course the locks to go with them too) Shoot me an offer.
  3. And hope your e-brake holds. That first one is pretty cool. Would be fun to try.
  4. Just like the title says. Need an exhaust manifold. I have two cars and both are cracked. let me know what you have. Thanks. Scott
  5. Well I have decided to part out the car and use parts that I need to finish my 86. There are so many small odds and ends that I need (and an exhaust manifold, hoping this one isn't cracked too) that it will be easier to go this route. Hopefully soon I will be able to start listing parts for sale.
  6. Ok Guys heres the deal. I have an 89 Conquest that I purchased with the intention of parting out to fund my 86 rebuild. This car however runs and is mobile and I hate to part out a running car. It is an automatic however it does have issues and I would suggest replacing it with a good used one. It runs good in low, 2nd but drive there is a lull between shifts. I just don't want to put any more money in this car seeing how my main focus is my 86 black TSI. I am looking for $800 for the car. Car is not far from being a daily driver but a long long way from being perfect. Odometer shows 123K If anyone is interested in more details let me know and I will be happy to answer any questions or provide photos. If no one is interested at this price I will rob parts needed to finish my 86 and sell the rest. Thanks for looking. There are a few photos in the gallery under scooterh72. The white car.
  7. I was trying to avoid that as I just bought a new pump. I guess I could just buy another pump and then try and sell the other one. That might be the best route to go.
  8. Ok, Chad made a good point and I thought I knew what I needed but still learning these cars. I ended up getting the wrong one. I need the bypass tube with the outlet for the turbo. (two passages on both ends). Anyone with a spare then want to get rid of?
  9. I did this method with a long thick screwdriver, using a trouble light to see. Push towards the passenger side of car. I had the hood popped open in 10 secs. I had to do this because the cable on my car is missing. A quick fix was to add a piece of wire to the latch and drop it down and tie it to a bracket under the front bumper. Primitive but works.
  10. Snow's pretty much all gone. Had some higher temps and that took care of it. Yes, it is good to see another member from ND.
  11. Just wanted to thank EVERYONE on this forum. Before I purchased this car. (Roller with everything ripped apart and things missing) I did a lot of research from this forum and the internet to be sure to be able to find parts and advice on getting this car running. Thanks to the help of forum members (you know who you are. ) I am almost to the point of getting the car up and running. Thanks starquestclub!!!!!! Scott
  12. I am doing a full rebuild and I purchased a set of stock replacements for like $24 from DAD. I didn't want to spend the $100 but did want piece of mind knowing that I have new head bolts going into the engine. Just my .02
  13. Item 12 in the picture. Anyone have a good unit for sale? Thanks.
  14. Yea, that is why I'm not too upset. I will call around today and see if someone can weld it up for me and then I will drill and tap out. Live and learn.
  15. Looking for a back up light switch for a 5 speed.
  16. Ok, I will give you a little background. I purchased a fresh rebuilt manual transmission from a forum member. I received the tranny and took it out of the box and immediately put it in my shed. It has been about a month now and I took it out to get it ready to drop in my car. I have a rebuilt engine as well. As I was cleaning the transmission I noticed that the mounting spot for the slave cylinder was damaged. I did take all of the packaging material out of the shipping box and there was no pieces in there and the box was not damaged. It is possible this was damaged during shipping but if the forum member did KNOWINGLY sold this to me in this condition, SHAME ON YOU!!! That is as far as I will take that part of it.......Now to my question. How much pressure is put on the slave cylinder when shifting? Half of the mounts are there along with the threads. My thought was to either ground the mounts till they are flat where they broke and use spacers with longer bolts to mount the slave cylinder (possilby use JB weld as well) My only other option would be to take my old transmission and the rebuilt one to a transmission shop and see what they would charge to change out the front housings. Any other suggestions? I can take a picture tomorrow and post if that would help anyone. I have the transmission at my father in laws shop. Thanks for any input
  17. Not sure what a new one costs, but I had a new windsheild replaced in a Lumina for $215. Glass has come down a lot over the years. Plus I wouldn't want to try and remove one without cracking it.
