  1. I'll pay you the $600.00 just to chop it, and video tape it, then post the video All because my name is Chet and I drive a Camero. hahaha Bump for a rare car that needs a good home.
  2. yes its a 97 15'th anniversary I found it inTX at a dealership called Don McGill Toyota in Katy, Tx.

Sucks to be me.
  4. Boo for the automatic, but nice find. Save yourself some skins and pay someone who knows about cars to hit you off with a clean 5 speed swap. You obviously don't know anything about cars seeing on how your vehicles have such little mileage you either don't have a job and mommy and daddy buy your cars for you, or you are handicapped and can't even drive the cars you own, in which case I feel sorry for you. I'm not hating, I just can't stand when people waste money on cars just to let them sit around and look pretty in the garage or ride around on the trailer. Get in the car, and drive.
  5. My professional opinion is that, although the car appears to be in great shape and it's got newer/stuff - anything replaced counts as a loss for the seller. Say the car would be worth $3,000 right now bone stock in mint condition. Well all your $10,000 in mods means nothing other than the buyer is getting a better looking / hopefully better running car for $3,000. Any money you put into a vehicle is not an investment, rather an expense and should be considered as such. Wanting a a certain price, and getting a certain price are two different things. With that being said, and myself having put a couple hundred thousand dollars into my automobiles and losing mostly all of it when I get bored with the cars and sell them - I'd say ask $4,000 or best offer because unless you find a well off young buyer with money burning a hole in their pocket that cars going to take for ever to sell for any more than 4K or best. Listing the vehicle on places where buyers have funds ready is helpful, such as ebay. I know it sucks to pay ebay fees, and people want to pay less on there but if you are going to find the right buyer for your masterpiece - you need a huge audience. Good luck with the sale!

damn. Should have made a mold of it, and reproduced .. probably 80% the quests left in the country need the part.
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-Mitsubi...sspagenameZWDVW IF you need the radio trim itself too
  9. I would like to know if one of you in northern NJ or eastern PA who knows conquests (very) will come over and look over my car with me. I need a solid opinion on what to do with the car, I would like someone who can bring their Quest to my house, to show me how a good example of the car should be etc to help determine the value of my own. If somebody is interested, please contact me via pm even if you reply here so I'm sure to see your reply. I think we may have been ripped off for this car, and if that's the case I need advice on parting / selling / restoring etc. This is a crappy situation for me, and if one of you would be nice enough to come look the car over with me and show me how it should be I'd be grateful. Thanks - Brett
  10. Haha, good eye man, thats awesome and yeah, STI for obvious reasons (fenders) same as the Conquest, and the Supra well.. always wanted a 97 so I bought one. The conquest is going to be repainted WR blue like the STi if I keep it. I totally didn't even realize the neighbors car was there in the carport when I took the pics, but really good eye!
  11. No, actually it wasn't a luxury at all, I don't own an ES300 I guess that was a joke based on the price, but the vehicle was my 2006 WRX STi. MY 97 Supra estimate was close.
  12. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much it cost to reupholster this car as it was completed before it was purchased. I did how ever have another vehicle outfitted with leather and it cost me $895.00 for the front + back seats and door card inserts. I would guess this may cost about the same.
  13. Well, my brother is a formal mechanic, I'm just a backyard mechanic so I'll see what we can do! Thanks for the links guys, most appreciated!
  14. 1988 Conquest TSi, named for obvious reasons.. 1.5" drop (not sure) on eibachs, shaved door locks, tire size downgraded to fit with the drop, reupholstered black leather interior, Apex-i turbo timer, and that's about all. Stock motor really, rebuilt turbo, and new style head etc. Excuse the paint on the spoiler, who ever painted the car actually did a really good job, but they didn't prep the spoiler correctly so the paints flaking off it. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b30/95_5speed/tsi1.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b30/95_5speed/tsi2.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b30/95_5speed/tsi3.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b30/95_5speed/tsi4.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b30/95_5speed/tsi5.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b30/95_5speed/tsi6.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b30/95_5speed/tsi7.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b30/95_5speed/tsi8.jpg I can't believe this thing has a Cd player, that actually still works... 1988 baby. haha
  15. Yikes, sounds like this has happened to quite a few people, I see a timing chain kit on ebay for $90.00 plus shipping is that what you did? Buy a new timing chain kit for it, and replace the chains / tensioners?
  16. Can I remove that cover, and do the work with the vehicle on the ground? currently it's sitting in my back yard, that's all I have to work with unfortunately so would it be beneficial, to jack it up and put the ramps under the front wheels to access the bottom, or just do it all from up top? Remove fans, radiator, and accessories or something? Crank pulley it looks like.. I better buy an air compressor for that bolt. Oh it's such a shame, the car is beautiful, and it just came back from having the entire 5 speed transmission internals rebuilt with a new clutch and resurfaced flywheel so this sucks.
  17. I started the car for a second to check, the oil pressure gauge doesn't register anything. The chain noise actually went away for the moment, as It ran for maybe 10 seconds, the chain started to make noise but stopped and went pretty silent. well, now I need to find out what my options are next. I don't want to fix the chains, and find out theres internal damage to the rod and main bearings, or scored up cylinder walls from no lubrication. What would any of you do at this point?
  18. My brothers conquest timing chain started making an awful racket one day out of nowhere, it hasn't been driven since this noise occurred. The engine does start, and you could even drive it so I know the timing isn't off, but something in there is smacking something else, or I don't know what but it's terribly loud and I was told it is a very expensive fix. 1988 Conquest TSi 5 speed unknown mileage, head was replaced a while ago, sound started recently. 1.) Anybody know how much estimate it would cost to replace the timing chain / what ever else is in there that would need to be done? 2.) Does this sound like something that can be fixed, have any of you had this issue before? 3.) Does the head really have to come off to get the job done, or is there a way around taking the whole engine apart? any help appreciated, thanks.
