  1. Hey guys just like the title says I'm looking for a clean functioning IAT sensor with the attached pigtail that screws into the ovcp. At least I'm pretty sure thats what the sensor is. Either way the wiring on mine is coming apart right at the base so it'd be a pain to try to resolder and is already got me pretty worried. Let me know if you have one available and if you accept paypal *My car is an 86, just a heads up in case the sensors vary upon the manufacturing year Thanks, Zero
  2. Hmm if I stay with the old silver button style it must be very clean. Which is understandably pretty hard to find which makes me want a black button unit that much more. Bumpity Bump still looking for a new unit and paying top dollar for what I need
  3. I feel I really owe more than a *great seller, A+++, buy with confidence" it to this person. Really is a stand up guy, honest, reliable, and very easy to do business with. Was willing to work with my very busy schedule and have my parts shipped extremely quickly. Can't say enough. I'd have no hesitation to buy from him again and neither should you
  4. Bump. Still looking for a nice clean HVAC unit. Black button or Silver button style. Paying top dollar for a black button unit tho
  5. Awesome, glad to hear it. Looks like I'll be givin them a shot then
  6. HID Kit So I've been looking at this kit for the last couple of days. I know it happens to say Starion in the title, but a ton of cars have sealed beams so it seems like it might be compatible. The big thing is that I thought our stock headlight size was 5"x7" and if you look in the description it says that these are 6"x7". I didn't know if I might be wrong about our size or if they listed a couple things wrong or what. Just so I don't slam you with a wall of text I'll make this brief: -would this kit work with our car? is the sizing correct? -I know this wouldn't just be a plug and play procedure but approximately how much time would it take? -has anyone tried a kit similar to this with good results? I'd really appreciate any and all feedback Thanks, Zero
  7. Bought an intake and a MAS from him. Pleasure to deal with. Wouldn't have any hesitation to do it again
  8. Awesome. Let me know what you can dig up Fingers crossed
  9. Well the lights have been burnt out on my beat up HVAC control until for quite some. The unit still works but I have to guesstimate where the temp is currently set at . So I'm on the lookout for a nice clean HVAC unit. I have an 86' (silver button style) but as far as I know the later years (black button style)all have the same harness, etc. Pics are a must so if you have one you're looking to get rid of then shoot me a PM and I'll get you my email address. Thanks, Zero
  10. Bump for desperate need The only difference should be the MAF plug is round instead of square like the other years
  11. Nobody? For what it's worth, this concerns Lobster's for sale thread. I have an 86' and while I'd love to buy the can he's got, I just wanna make sure the MAF won't have any issues fitting etc Someone must know
  12. heh I do my best to lurk on the For Sale section as much as I can. I work a ton tho so that can sometimes be a problem.
  13. I'm just looking for a straight purchase. Modifications, machine time, and turn around time aren't really something I have the time for. It looks like several people have been very satisfied with the turbo's they've gotten from you man, but I don't need a turbo 2 weeks or 2 months from now. I'm needin one pretty bad, pretty soon.
  14. Well guys the 12A is on it's way out and while it's down, I figured I'd just toss the thing. I'm not about to put another 150K+ mile 12A on the car, but at the same time I don't want to pay 700+ for a new 14G from Forced Performance, TEP, etc. So, if you've got a good used bolt-on 14G, 16G, 17C, etc that you're looking to get off your hands then please shoot me a PM. I'm in bad need so I thought the SQ community would be the best place to look. Thanks for readin, Zero
  15. Bumpity Bump. Simple question that needsa simple answer and soon. por favor.
  16. Just as the title says. I'm on the lookout for a clean 86 (Or any year that coincides with 86) MAF and air can in good shape. PM me or just drop a reply in this thread with your asking price. Thanks, Zero :Edit: Paying Top Dollar!
  17. I'm all over this. Consider it sold come payday
  18. Yeah I've replaced plugs and wires. NGK's on both. BOV isn't leaking. Though there are a ton of good suggestions I'm gonna try. I'm passing the torch to someone more skilled than myself with these kind of situations. It goes in the shop Monday. I'll let you guys know what the demon turned out to be.
  19. I'll try to make this short as I'm more interested in your input than you are in my problems lol. Almost three years ago when I bought my 86' it was bone stock. After road tripping it back home, I decided to put in a drop-in K&N as the stocker was filthy. The auto parts store got it mixed up and gave me a 1G DSM filter. To my untrained eye it seemed like the one I needed so I went ahead with the install. I started it up and went for a drive. It was awful. The only thing I can really say it felt like was boost cut. Anytime you got anywhere near boost it would just fall flat on it's face. After removing the K&N and putting the stocker back in, the problem persisted. After some novice trouble shooting and a little reading I ended up just unplugging the MAF and forcing the ECU to rely on the stock MAP sensor. The problem was cured! Not so fast tho. If these cars were that easy a lot less swearing would be done a lot of people wouldn't be alcoholics. You can't blip the throttle. If you do, it'll fall flat for a second and then go. Although the problem wouldn't happen if you ran threw the gears. Meaning you could floor the throttle, the car would fall flat, and then when you shift and floor again, it wouldn't. It also ran a bit rough for the first mile or so of driving. After it warmed up that little bit, it would run great aside from the throttle problem. About a year of driving the car just like this, I decided that maybe the MAF had gone so I got another one of this very forum and the big problem came right back after plugging a MAF in. After doing a ton of boost leak tests visual checks I could never figure out what is making such a drastic difference. SO.... My question to the veterans would be why does this car hate stock MAFs so much? What could this be? which leads me to the real question: I want throttle response and good driveability back. Which led me to the idea of just bypassing the problem all together by getting rid of the stack airflow reading system. Will switching to a GM MAF setup likely cure the problem? From a few instances I've seen, the 86 and earlier MAF's are a source of problems. Does using a MAFT require a 1st gen DSM MAF harness to be soldered into the car or is the new V2.0 different? I keep turning up empty every time I try to find an 86 running a GM MAF although I know it has to have been done. The only real helpful thread I found on this subject is This one I really respect the tech gods on here and would definitely like to hear their and other's opinions and input. I trying to get everything squared away so I'll be able head up to the meet as it's not even an hour away from me. PS mods are simply 3" exh, hard ic piping, bov
