  1. also something i almost forgot , i had taken the tps off and inspected the inside and there was the very light film/liquid inside so im woundering if it was fuel or coolant im figure im going to do complete rebuild of the throttle body , because im having a smoke issue that im trying to track down but i wanted to get everything right on the idel situation first before i went to the next prob
  2. ok i will try that tom do the -lead to ground and check all three wires,its just strange because ive done the ohm test and the sweep test a couple times now and shows that the tps is good ,but i do have a member sending me another tps so ill install it to see if i get diff results
  3. its like im getting readings that should be at full throttle not at idle , becouse in the write up it says if u depress the accelerator u should get a reading of close to 5 volts which is what im getting at no throttle 4.7/8 , its got my head hurting lol and when i turn the tps the lowest reading i can get is about 2.8/3.0 volts

FIRST YES I HAVE A WIDEBAND FOR A/F RATIOS AND INDIANA I WAS GETTING THE VOLT READING FROM TERM 2 AND 3 , NOW I WAS READING THAT U WILL GET A READING OF 4.+ VOLTS WHEN U DEPRESS ACCELERATOR FULLY SAYS UP TO 5.0 SO IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY THE TPS IS SHOWING 4.8 VOLTS WHILE ITS AT IDLE AND SORRY IM NOT YELLING IM USE TO USING CAPS on my estimates for work lol
  5. and its also throwing a o2 sensor code and i have a three wire o2 so i dont know if that makes a diff
  6. ok i went through and have been trying to set the tps just how the manual says and i even went through and did a ohm test on the tps and the sweep test and everything seems to check out good but when i hook up the meter to set voltage to 0.48/.50 my meter is reading 4.+ volts and i had checked the isc for 9v and it was showing good , so i checked on board diag and its showing codes 5 and 6 which are the tps/isc so do i just need to replace these items or do i have another issue here maybe in the connecter/harness , and she runs a little lean while ideling and half throttle so im sure this is because the tps is all out of wack ect

  10. ok i was going to do a tps reset today and pulled the rubber gromet back and theres a grn/blk wire a grn/white and grn/red on the tps the instructions i was reading said use black and grn/white was just woundering if i use the grn/blk and also when i was trying to turn the tps to set the voltage, it didnt change the voltage at all either way i would turn it, so is the tps bad? and also in the step i diconnect the isc motor do i diconnect the mps also on 87/98 cars

  12. ok when i put the fuse in , my wipers automatically come on and will not shut off from the wiper switch/handle so do i have a etacs issues or bad wiper switch or something else ,
  13. well today i went out and started the quest again and when i first go to start it , it turns over several times before she fires and it smokes a little at first but then when it seems to warm up is when it really smokes , so still not sure what im up against , to me since its kinda hard to start it may be rich and dumping to much fuel but then how it smokes worse after warm up , i think thats when the thermostat opens and pushing coolant throught the motor, or maybe oil is getting warm and getting past seals in turbo , but tom i should have wideband in so ill just go from there
  14. well guys theres no need to go back and forth on issues , i honesty appreciate all of your guys knowledge and opions , but the **** fights come on, and chad im glad your back with us and have been active in the threads , if it wasent from this site and a few others i would of been lost with these cars , ive built many older hot rods ect , but ive always luved the quest after the first time i seen one and read up on them i was very impressed and i honestly like cars that u dont see much , so i went out looking for one and being the first turbo car i knew it would challenge me in ways im not use to and learn from , soon after i found the quest i bought a 2nd turbo car a sweet 87 grand nat , but im a true mopar guy but these 2 cars i enjoy just as much , sorry to get off the subject lol

Yea it has about the same in and out as it has side to side , i have a pretty much new holeset thats going on the car later down the road and it has zero side to side or in and out , as for the smoke im honestly starting to lean on the rich cond , im in process of installing a wideband , and i have changed all the plugs so i can start the process of elimination, i actually had the head repaired because i was not able to locate another one at the time and there had been alot of work and money put into this one, i was very weary about going this rout but after talking to my machiniest he assured me the repair would be top notch and he has yet to have one come back , so a super clean plug will tell me if i still have a crack in the head, i did a comp check and everything seemed good, so im pretty sure my head gasket sealed good i used an adjusa , the wideband will show a rich cond so we will see but really only thing is left , is poss intake gasket/tbi gasket or possability of a crack in the intake , or like u say chad bad injector
  16. well is it normal for when the car is sitting and idling and i pull the oil cap off it blows hard enough out, it feels kinda like if u put your hand over a exhuast pipe , from what i knoe this means the rings are toast , but the motor has been rebuilt with only about 1600 miles on her but i had a head crack and leaked coolant , im just hoping i was able to get it out in time and i didnt ruin the cy walls and rings , i know when i had the head off everything looked to be ok , or maybe the rings havent sealed properly , im still getting smoke out from the exuast , but i know it takes awile to burn out all the coolant and i think my turbo may need rebuilt it has litlle bit side to side play and in and out but i have not ever felt a blown turbo to compare it too

  18. yes i was actually thinking about using the petcock drain on the radiator as long the threads ect are the same , and using one in the lower hose is a good idea too thanks
  19. ok guys i installed a alum rad with 2 aftermarket fans and im wanting to use the factory harness and relays since they are much better than the aftermarket set-up to run my fans . but the rad is not setup for thermo sensors , so im needing to know in detail if someone has installed this way , or do i need to run a switch to inside the car , i know the blue wire coming out of the factory fan harness is hot all the time , and also my factory fan where set up to all come on at once by the prev owner , so any ideas for this or better method thanks jason

  22. hey guys i was taking off my starter the other nite and found one of the bolts where missing and ive tried several places today to replace it with no luck does anybody have an extra bolt laying around or good place to find replacement i ha went to a parts store here and then to fastenal then to lowes thanks jason c
