  1. Awesome! Colour is gorgeous. I have a 78 Celeste GSR
  2. Thanks guys, yeah it was a pretty fun packed day we started out from an airfeild in the cotswolds and drove a scenic route to Silverstone circuit for lunch in the wing! then back to the airfield for a BBQ prizes and wing walking if you were up for it. This is the official video of the day and my Starion driven by my Brother in Law on the day at 3.30 leaving Silverstone https://www.youtube....h?v=IhLP7Bo5zHc <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/IhLP7Bo5zHc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  3. If this was in the UK I'd beat him unconscious with a money roll to have it!
  4. Woah last update I made was 2010!!! Guess being your own boss translates to every project on hold. Now it's 2014 and it seems like some kind of wierd amazing dream but she is running thanks to some doner parts from my fiancees starion and my brother in law has just delivered her back after running her in for me.Going back to late last summer I'd started losing sleep about my built 54 sweating and being ruined before even running. So I bought a boroscope and checked the bores...http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/DEDBCF2F-E60F-4A93-B99B-537D98BD3CC0_zps5dtk8e8o.jpgIn a word relief! So onto the ramp with a shameful layer of dust and on with trying to get her to Japanese Auto Extraveganza the the biggest jap show of the year in the UK.Now I've heard old fuel turning to varnish but this stuff really stung on the skin. Special brew from 2004 errrghhttp://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/D43800BC-F3E0-4E1B-83E4-CFF7239216E4_zpsvt9e3zgw.jpg Dropped the tank and then sent it off to remove the half inch thick of muck in there. Before replacing the pump with a Walbro Eventually I have the parts for MPI but for running in and troubleshooting anything I find before that Ive fitted the standard turbo but port matched and tidied up the exhaust manifold to flow smoothly from the ported head. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/4F606C4A-E0E5-4549-8F20-14DCCF5DBE2A_zpsd4tmg9mo.jpg The pipe work and rad cowling had been powder coated years ago and finally got installed. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/BDB05ABD-921D-4BBE-8C16-645CE83DCEB7_zpsjjqcwlsk.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/624D59ED-3509-45D8-85DF-4CB46EF8F6E9_zpsogd6ouah.jpg Next I needed to finish off the extraction so bought what I needed to make a straight through 2.5 system to a 2.5 in 5 out can which whn I'm done with it will go onto my Fiancees Starion. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/8AB50B74-115E-4EF8-9846-2E347E819137_zpsxiucw1cq.jpg She was, after a new knock box and some earthing issues, finally running although not at all happy when boost came in. Secondary inject was working but clearly not right so I got some Trilogy's but it seemed to be over fueling massivelt despite fitting a remote FPR to have a little for confidence in things. I changed the TB gaskets, blancke the EGR and jerry rigged a standard primary with the Trilogy secondary and she feels much much better. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/27B9F5F9-116A-4D7C-B823-AD282F3DD85A_zpsohfrtltu.jpg Well after all that I had missed the show and it was now the summer of this year!! But she is running... http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/451B128B-B862-4F84-9426-3588D72BDB9F_zpsu8q7tbpe.jpg ...and nerve wrecking as it was I handed the keys to my Bro in Law to take her back to base and runn her in in time to make an event.... And what an event I had 2 of my cars invited to Mitsubishi UK's 40th Birthday Celebration the "Mitsubishi Grand Tour" hosted by Mike Brewer. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/C5B5F9A7-C6FF-4625-844D-30E2EB9A7F3F_zpsgyjatzfv.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/5BEBC377-5067-4F35-8DD1-64F72447060D_zpsqcntvgvo.jpg Although the highlight for me was meeting old friends from MMC Colt Car Company who I hadn't seen in years Feels quite unreal finally driving her after trailoring her home in 2004 there's been an awful lot gone on in my life and its almost like some kind of out of body experience getting behind the wheel in her. Just wish gas was cheaper over here I'd never be out of her. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/Starion/B0506E19-05C7-40D6-BF83-C04F47FC089C_zpsjnfpjzil.jpg
  5. Great Jon send me pics of that bumper
  6. I'm after a good front bumper skin 87-89 Needs shipping to Davenport Florida Any help appreciated Chris
  7. After a pair of 9'a shipped to Florida with or without rubber Thanks Chris
  8. If you read further up the page I did say i've checked/replaced TPS, fuel pump, tank has been chemical cleaned, dizzy swapped for one with good vac advance, replaced knock box, eliminated EGR vac lines and replaced vac advance line with one piece hose, replaced injector clips and 9v checked injectors but as i remember only audible not checked for spray patern. I started checking for air leaks and eliminating possibles but ran out of time. Hopefully get more time this week but need to get customer work out of the way first.
  9. Yeah pretty sure I did, just wanted to make it easy for others to search for in the future
  10. Thanks for all the input guys. She is a 4g54 and a 1989 car. I 9v checked the injectors but that doesn't mean there isn't a blockage or corosion in there so I'll order a seal kit and put the injectors for a clean and check them properly off the car. No one had similar problems? I know its an odd one because so many things could cause a similar fault.
  11. Both clips replaced with brand new items, cone filter gone, tank filter clean, filter under bonnet/hood new. I guess it's a TB gasket kit and a secondary on order in the morning. Absolutly crackers, every one of the parts I've replaced has been worn, blocked or faulty but still it's the same damn fault haha Cheers for the input, it is appreciated
  12. Hey guys, still having woes getting my stock setup on a built motor to run right. Starts idles fine, warms up then steady, fans all coming in OK too. Gradually press pedal standing revs rise OK. Try to move away, accelerate more than a snails pace or snap throttle open she just dies. Standing or moving. She'll slowly accelerate through gears to around 50mph as long as the rpms don't go much above 2500. Needle hits 0 pressure she coughs and pops. Forged and balanced short motor, pauter rods, JE pistons, Fidanza, TEP head ported, large valves and cam etc. Last time I asked about a couple of problems as I was trying to run the engine in on stock TBI and turbo. Since then i've replaced the dizzy with a good one from my girls Starion, the knock box and the TPS too (which I checked). I found crud waste deep in the tank so that has been removed and chemically cleaned along with replacing the pump with a Walbro 255 and a new filter. Also both injector clips. Tonight I tried replacing the vac line to the dizzy with a single piece and checked for other air leaks. getting worried I'm going to pop a new engine here if I don't find it soon Any ideas where to look next. Big air leak? Secondary?
  13. The hitting a wall at 2500rpm is that driving or stationary?
  14. Can I get a PM or email to chris@mitsu-mech.co.uk on price with ship to chicago? Many thanks Chris
  15. These sold? I left a message on instagram
  16. Interested in the 9's with no tyres, got a buddy working in Chicago with HP
  17. May be interested if you post some pictures of them, thanks.
  18. This gives you an idea of how long I've been waiting and how memory and lost invoices are proving difficult http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101838
  19. No that's good Bill my full intention was to build a solid and well built short motor and then MPI and turbo to suit. I had started making my own exhaust manifold to accomodate an evo turbocharger and already have a magna intake I have modified but starting my own shop in 2008 I have had little time and even less spare cash to get her where I intended too from the start. I wanted to get the ball rolling again and so while my fiancee's engine gets pulled to work on the bottom end and I weld up the sills, I'm using her stock turbo to run mine in as it's been stood 4 years in my workshop with e motor in the never running which has been a constant niggling worry. I used my boroscope to make sure there were no signs of corrosion from neglect and all looked god everywhere I investigated so made it my mission to get her oiled up and run in so she was coated and clean inside. As for the parts from TEP I need to find all my receipts and maybe even contact TEP to see if I can get exact specs again. Alot of my paperwork and boxes were "lost" during my divorce. I've had a look at her today and done some basic checks with what little time I had, first of which was the vac advance which was my initial gut feeling and sure enough its goosed. Checking with a Mityvac it barely twitched when pumped, so thats a diaphram i wouldn't trust. New one from Mitsu is £70 but that ain't much cheaper than one from the US after shipping and tax so I'll order that tomorrow. 1 down 1 to go
  20. Thanks SR, more to recheck but helpful non the less. I did check the injectors with a 9V battery when I was diagnosing the starting fault which turned out to be the igniter. The cornering stumble I have tried to drive at a constant round round abouts and shallow bends and the fault persists without any change in throttle from me. looks like I'll be ordering gauges and connectors today to start ruling things out. Would be nice to iron out some creases before the weekend as there's a show at the local NISSAN plant and would be great to take a real car for all those stance and s13 boys to look at
