Are you using the upper plates on both sides? If those are there then how are they moving so far as to tear? If that is still happening just modify that plate for a hard stop. right side mount with heat shield bolt http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motor-Mount-1987-1989-Chrysler-Conquest-2-6-Front-Lef_W0QQitemZ270447931945QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ef7f3f229&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116 left side mount http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motor-Mount-1983-1985-Dodge-D50-POWER-RAM-50-RAM-50-2_W0QQitemZ270458438328QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ef89442b8&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116 W R O N G to only use this part, they WILL fail http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motor-Mount-1987-1989-Chrysler-Conquest-2-6-Front-Rig_W0QQitemZ270458424946QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ef8940e72&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116 When the motor tries to TILT the plate the mount is bonded to HITS that upper bracket and prevents the bond from being broken. That plate has to be there and how many threw it away, lost it or didn't think it was needed? Does your car have it? If that isn't enough of a lip then weld on more metal but that plate is curved on the end and the mount comes up and bangs in to it if the bond is broken so further limit the movement some how.
