87 Conquest, white. $1,100 OBO, Nor-cal

Runs until hot then stops until cool. Maybe an easy fix, I'm in college and this car has left me stranded too many times for me to continue to care about it.

Just put brand new BF Goodrich G-force super sport's($650) on (~1000 miles ago) No burn outs so tread is still absolutely fine. Have the donut for it and a front spare if you want it(old tire).

I replaced the stock turbo, and removed the secondary air box (broken pieces when I took it apart) I have all the pieces if you want them. No rust that I can find, does need a good washing. The PO left a lot of grease marks I'm still buffing out.

I did a tune up less than 150 miles ago. New NGK plugs and wires, new hoses to replace all the leaking ones, oil change with a K&n oil filter and some valvoline duro-blend. Changed the old VC gasket, and exhaust manifold gasket. New turbo gaskets when turbo got replaced. Ran some Lucas through it (fuel injector cleaner and oil stabilizer)

Extras - The interior is done(as in bad). I have a cloth backseat to go with it, though everything else is leather. Also have 2 clutch plates, headlight assemblies, set of fusible links, new fusible link box (needs replacing). Have a spare alternator though I just replaced the one in it. Hmmm, think that's all I have to go with it.

If I still have it soon I'm going to let it fail smog and sell it for $1,000 to the CA buyback.

Nope, I've never seen anything wrong with the frame. I'll crawl under after class and get a light to check around to be 100% though. Body is ok too, has a spot or 2 that are messed up, and the paint has some blemishes. Pictures tonight GF had my camera all night sorry.

Here's some pictures. Most of them are of the blemishes. I don't want someone wasting time driving out here to say "oh I don't like the seats" or something =p

Frame is fine, never been in a wreck as far as I know. Other than paint body is great except one tiny spot (pictured below) Hood could be adjusted it is slightly to far to one side (maybe 1/8 of an inch, only noticeable if you put the hood open next to the lights open).

Also, one picture it is missing the rear wiper assembly. I have 2 of them, one I'm pretty sure one is fried the other was working when I bought it, or so I was told. and it worked the day I bought the car, but it stopped soon after. Could be a fuse, I've never needed it so I just took it off to check the motor and never put the arm back on. The antenna it came with was after market and broke when I tried to tighten it so I got a stock power antenna but never installed it, Comes with the car... I also remembered I have a spare front tire (no rim) if anyone wants it with the car.

Heater blows great but no heat, and defroster works but since no heat it does a bad job at keeping the window not fogged. Could be back flushed or need new heating core I just go without and bundle up, but most of the people I know on here don't even drive the car in the winter. I get a foot of snow a year so I use my truck =p

I have the stoock deck, but it's broke(sounds like a** and doesn't play tapes). Had a cd player but my GF took it

Now that I soiled my cars good name, here's some pictures.

^^The small chip on the right is the only damage on the body I believe, I didn't notice anything else when taking pictures.

^^Those spirals are on the back on the hatch, like I said, needs new paint some day.

^^^ The other "pillar" is fine. This one is some how missing paint

^^ That piece of carpet is an easy fix I have it like that since I planned on installing a radio kit to make it look better =p

If you really want pictures of the extras let me know. But we've all seen used parts.

If you'd like pictures of the car that make it look nice I'll take them too. I put all the bad spots up so no one wastes their time trying to get a pristine car and be super disappointed when they see it in person.

Yeah it's come a long way. From what I know it was intended on being a parts car but someone had got it to run.

It's been running well lately.

I have it unforetunately though it dies after 30-45 minutes of driving, then after 1-2 hours it starts right up and drives fine. Must be gas/computer though as it dies even in gear with Roma, also won't bump start when hot. If you had a way to trailer it I'd drop too $700, sounds like you would give it a good home. Like I mentioned the tires are worth $650

An ignition coil can do exactly what you are describing. I've seen coils that had a short that only appeared when it got hot. Then you had to let the car cool down before you could start it again.

I would test it with a voltmeter when it's hot and not running. Or just get a $15 coil from a parts store and test it. Get a coil for a 60s V8 car. They don't put out as much voltage but they work fine in these cars and only cost $15

Tested the coil(cold) and the inner was 6.5k (specs are 9.4k-12.7k) and the outer tested at 1.9(specs said 1.1-1.38)

I'm assuming since it's out of specs warming it to die isn't necessary right? Or should I throw it back on and let it go till it dies? I just don't feel like driving 30miles and letting it die randomly then waiting till the next day to get it home =p But if I must, I must.

Also, it has 2 spots where the coil wire goes that are almost burned through it looks like. Pretty black, my dad thought it looked fried too.

I price checked with autozone and kragen(only local spots) and they didn't have any v8 coils that are cheaper. I found one for 24, but the one for the car is only 28.

so put the coil in, not starting. I'm going to put the old coil in and see if it will fire up. I suspect its the plug wire since it fits on super loose. I thought it'd fire anyways. Not sure why else it wouldn't work. Just started it maybe a week or 2 ago so it's not just sitting.
