Yeah that steerings done. Thats why I had to make the headers. Welp tomorrow is looking like fire up day... I got my gauges in today, just need to hook them up to the sending units. Especcially the oil pressure. Its going to look sick, I'm going get the suede covers on there tomorrow too. Just clean, and simple. I'll get a stereo eventually.

Damn dude. When all this started did you really have all this in mind, or was it suppose to be a LS1 quest and a cage. It inspires me to build my own dash as well. Now that the season is closing you are almost done. Next spring will be absolutely sick. This thing is a god amongst mere mortals.

Yeah I really did. I figured if I'm going to go this far with things I might as well take my time and make it exactly how I want it. I'm loving the dash, and it weighs about 75% less than the stock one. I still got to get a tach, I might go with the same brand for now cause I like thier set up.

These guys make custom setups. The chain makes sense for hotrods and any car with a big engine mounted in a tiny engine bay with header clearance. Seemed appropriate to post here.

yeah the way I'm going to be steering....lol That wouldn't hold up... I wouldn;t feel safe with that. I think its a great idea for a street rod, if your gonna putz around town in it.

i use my little 100 dollar baller Garmin Nuvi GPS as a speedo. and i has a map too! i don't think it has a speed limit though.

Yep I got the same thing. Its more accurate that a speedo anyways. I didn't start it yet, spent most of the day cleaning up wiring and hooking up all the gauges correctly. Still need to drain the tank and put it back up in the car. White to blue is on a switch.

After reading about the chain-based system i don't think it is any less safe than any other type of solution. Is your steering linkage going to be surrounded by headers?

yeah its goes right between the headers. theres no room for anything else.

Yeah those are cheap.

This reminds me of my Flybridge steering on my boat. It's a chain as well

I'm still confused why anyone would think this would be a good idea, or even work in a quest. You don't want a chain contorlling your steering when your drifting. Stupid.

anyways, fuel systems done, tank is in. I just got to prime the fuel pump and cross my fingers.
