Xtreme Industries
i just bought an 88 tranny, drive shaft, and torque tube off a 22,000 mile crashed conquest for 200.00 delivered. everything seems tight. how do i make sure the torque tube is good? does the shaft move in the housing at all? what should i look for. the tranny seams clean and still has the original shifter on it and the drive shaft seems real good too. i dont really even need these but thought it would be good to get just in case. 88TSI_Rob
As far as I know there isn't much that can go bad on the torque tube. The biggest issue is making sure the shaft ends are greased. If the grease dries up water and dirt can get in and the teeth start to get worn down.
