Shiro Akuma
PICS: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_0987.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/Camaro_Interior.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_0115.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_0978.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_0975.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_0926.jpg The body is rough as hell and I probably need most of the panels replaced. But for now it continues to have character. Amazingly it only has 65k miles on it last I actually looked at the odometer. Power windows, top, brakes(proving to be a problem)and steering all factory. It's come a long way over the years. Getting worked on every so often. So far I've had the engine rebuilt, swapped out the powerslide for a craptastic 3rd gen Camaro T5(that I blew and rebuilt), Painless wiring harness, custom aluminum driveshaft, built 10 bolt rearend, 11" discs & 11" drums and 16x8 AR TTDs. Oh and a couple of other little odds and ends I'm sure I'm forgetting. Details of the engine build. 327 bored to 331, 10.5C, stock crank & rods, healthy cam, ported & polished heads with 2.02I & 1.60E valves with 3 angle job, dual plane intake, 650 Holley. Details of the rearend. 10 bolt with Eaton posi, Richmond 3.73 gears and Moser 28 spline axles. For the most part I just wait until I break something before I fix it. Well with exception to the engine, it was just tired and I figured if I was going to freshen it up might as well make it a bit better. Plus I thought I might as well make the car alot more fun and throw in a junkyard 5-spd. After that though, breaking things has been pretty easy. Killed the rearend doing a burnout. Popped the clutch, felt the car lurch, grabbed the brakes and after two seconds or so realized the tires weren't spinning. End result was a snapped axle and both spiders chewed all to hell. Blew the T5 power shifting. So yeah, I rape the hell out of this car when I drive it, how else should one drive a 1st gen Camaro? Currently fixing the accessories after getting tired of slinging the alt/water pump belt constantly. Stock style upper alt bracket and deep groove alt pulley plus new power steering pump and PS lower bracket and deep grove pulley Vid of me revving the hell out of it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/th_67_Camaro_Idle.jpg

chiplee
one of the other cars I looked at when I bought my first quest was a 68 Camaro RS/SS with a 396 and cowl induction hood. Blue with white racing stripes. Dude wanted $9800. I think that might have been a slightly smarter investment than the quest I paid $6500 for in 1993, but oh well. Shiro Akuma
New pics of the engine. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_7622.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_7620.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_7634.jpg Got rid of the craptastic upper Alt. mount and replaced it with the stock style. Deep groove pulley on the Alt, new power steering pump & pulley and lower mount, new belts and an electric vacuum pump on the brakes. Also threw on a new Rad cap, but that's not in the pics. Now to get some new headers, replace the broken fan shroud, drill out the broken hood stop, paint the thermostat housing(orange)& air cleaner(flat black)+ new air filter and change the oil & filter. Oh, and clean the hell out of it of course. Would've done it yesterday, but I was too busy having fun with it. Wheel/brake pics. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_7646.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_7650.jpg Quick night shot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_7635.jpg And the hood I aim to get when the body work gets done. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/67-68Yenko427hood.jpg

shift1313
very nice car man. ive got a 68ss clone. It has like 40k on it and was restored in 96(poorly). mine is a coupe but had a vinyl top so really tore the roof up. my car was a 327 power glide but someone put a 350 during the cloning process as well as disc's up front and a turbo 350 trans and some corvette ralleys out back with 275's. Sounds like you got that car for a steal!!!
Shiro Akuma
Made a new shift knob this week. It's nice when things add up in your favor. I like the number 13, my Camaro is orange and white and those are the same colors of the No. 13 pool ball. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_7757.jpg It's slightly angled towards me. P.S. It is just too easy to do. Drill, tap, install. And getting the ball is easy too. I just asked the local billiards store if they had any old balls. Now who'll be the first to make that joke? P.S.S. Thinking about making a cue ball for the SQ. Edited June 29, 2008 by Shiro Akuma
