here is a little more progress on the bike. this is the plug for my tailsection mold im making. I finished sanding it today and sprayed some paint on it to seal the bondo(fiberglass and bondo dont mix). Ive got it waxed and hope to lay some glass on it this weekend.

there will be a seat, im working on it now

all that paint is plasticoat 500degree engine paint:)

the 68 is still sitting. There were some estate issues so i have done much with it until they are resolved. I started to reassemble it actually. Id like to have it running, and moving i should say for when i finally build a house. Ive got the front clip, motor and tranny on, as well as part of the interior going back together. Once i get the headers on, distributor in and a battery it should fire right up.

Hey man that GPZ looks awesome. I have a 96 GPZ1100 that I am in the process of repainting Ford 2003 Sonic blue (the blue on the 03 cobras) along with some other mods. I'll have some pics up when it’s done. I love what you did man and the paint... Great choice of colors

I will probably reveal my age when I say this, but who cares? I bought a GPZ 550 brand new in 84, it was leftover 83 stock and got a great deal on the bike. I had a new Kerker 4 in 1 installed with jet kit and the bike just came to life and sounded like a damn cow going in labor when I gave it hell. I rode the bike for 2 months and just found myself wanting more power, so I go back to the dealer I bought the bike from and asked him what else he had. The dealer starts making a few phone calls while I am standing in the showroom, and he asks me if I will be trading in the GPZ550? I tell him more than likely if he will give me a good deal on a bigger bike. He told me to come back in 3 days and he would have me a bigger bike ready to pick up. I go back to the dealer after waiting 3 days and go see this bike that looks almost like my 550, except it was black & red and was slightly bigger in general. I check the bike out and noticed it had "turbo" on the side panels  Don the "dealer" says...Don't give this bike hell until you get the feel of it or else it's going to wash out from under ya! I take the bike out for a test ride "1 hour" :D and came back with a grin on my face as if I just did 3 of the finest chics in my high school. I told the dealer to wrap it up, I'll take it! Not paying attention later on that month after I signed the trade in contract and insurance papers, I realized I got shafted on trade in price and insurance almost triples on coverage  This was my 1st turbocharged vehicle I ever owned and been buying turbo bikes & cars ever since.

the nice thing about the 550 was the 6speed, thats about it:) Ive ridden stock 750 turbos and modded 750 turbos and they are fun bikes but my NA750 was a much better ride for anything but straight line. im hoping the low boost will give it that extra kick:). My bike as it sits un-turbo had better power/weight ratio. Its 320lbs at the moment. Been working on it little by little.
