Trilogy Turbos
Yeah yeah, it's uggly now , but it will be nice looking when done with new tubes  !!! and I'm not a super welder myself, getting better thow!!! What do you guys think?Price for the mild steel is $375.00 and does not include the external wastegate port.I tried to make something that would fit my setup with that specific turbo, that is a S50 Masterpower; .50 front and .68 a/r turbine. If the Turbonetics flow charts are correct this turbo at 24psi will be working with 72% efficiency and making "around" 340hp. I think it would be nice for a GP for the header, turbo and down pipe all together. I'll have to calculate price if there is interest.Tks, HeronTrilogy Turbos

emagdnim
yikes! Someone needs a tig. Those welds are horrible. I'm sure you will get better with practice though.
Chad
Yah, even the best MIG welds look bad compared to TIG. The SFP headders are MIG'd to an extent, the one I saw had both processes used on it. it's often just as strong a weld... Nice WG routing, innovative and multi-functional (compatable most WG's). Better than others I've seen with respect to WG placement.
Sully
He said he's working on the welds but honetly I wouldn't care as long as it holds up. Once the Turbo, WG and piping is on you can't see much of it anyways.
Trilogy Turbos
He he... I knew you guys would give some ""NICE"" feedback Well it's holding!!! 24psi of boost and did not crack, but #1 top stud came off. Quite odd, I would imagine # 4 lower would come off just like with the stock manifold.I'll extend the WG further back since the bolt for the down pipe flange is a little too tight to reach. Don't forget, I made this using only "USED" pipes, even a T3 flange from another header, LOL, what a mess! But now I have all the correct measurements and the pipes will have a better finish.Regards,HeronTrilogy Turbos
Technology
The bigger the glob, the better the job! The mounting of the turbo seems a little low. Maybe too close to the oil filter housing? I dunno. Header wrap can fix that. Once the welds are cleaned up, this could be a very attractive buy. Actually is the same distance as the stock one, but I can always twist the #2 runner for better clearance. Turbo is low since I want to use my *DM hard pipes instead of making new ones. They are tight but they fit. I need to dyno this thing!!! HeronTrilogy Turbos
gofastredstar
I see the turbo is braced, or supported by a bar. Good work there, first one i have seen like that. Interested too, in seeing more.

Blind_Drifter
^^^ how it should be. A lot of people make one, and are like o look, it must be btter than stock. I Really like the route your taking with this Heron.
88_ESI_R
Very interested. Will the final product work with Kelly's pipes, 3" exhaust, and let's say a 16 or 19G?
T_sandman
Might want to post pictures of a nice looking one before you ask for that kind of money. I did'nt see, is that stainless? What is the wall thickness of the tubing?
quikconq
any idea of a group purchase price,,,ball park???????id say group buy for just the header,,,,as someone my want to chose their own turbo or have thier own turbo me i have my own turbo and down pipe,,,,my header tho sets way to high for the stock hood
MontyTSI
the end user can always grind the "highspots" to get the looks better, just done dig into the welds to much. i like the design... now do plenty of testing on them to avoid the potential growing pains some have had. a few makers of headers is a good thing for the community and all those selling them. Technology
Yeah, I just took off my whole exhaust side, and I was wrong about distance from the oil thing, you're right, it's the same. What size tubing are you using? 1 5/8?
conquestTSIguy
IMHO I don't think that looks matter nearly as much as functionality... I say keep up the good work and keep us posted.
maddmiked
I'd clean up the inside of the the manifold.... Globs out are fine. Globs in are bad... just my opinion... Love the tubes though. Keep up on it. and keep practicing.......Mike
Hit_N_Run-player
ive got a friend who works welding intercoolers and he just started building manifolds.. http://forums.piratesofslide.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=38 Im gonna talk to him about seeing if he could produce a bunch for a GP here. Would anyone be interested? Ill try and get later pics of recent work. Hes a really good welder, hes welding a bunch of stuff for me right now on my quest.
