HOT AIR RELEASE

the same way the vent brings in air to the inside of the car.  the area near the windshield wipers is under positive pressure and forces the air inside. same situation if you have a vent in the hood in that area, while driving, air will be pushed under the hood. but when the car is stopped, the hot air will just come up from that area.

I've had the vents off the older 280's. They're too big, wrong angle, too flat for the hood, and don't go with the lines of the car, not to mention letting too much water under the hood in the wrong places.

I think these will fit. i think they are from an 86 ford thunderbird. but not all had them.

I have a pair of hood louvers from a mid '80's chrysler turbo car. They are the ones I would use. They will fit flush and would require professional installation but will sit flush, look good and properly positioned help keep underhood temp's down and HP up. Mark

I sent a pic of the vents I have on now to Conquest 351, don't know if he got 'em tho............ :-/

Are they the ones in the picture you sent me a while ago?

Not very close look at them, but they just look like holes cut in the hood, have you put any mesh in there to stop debris getting in?

Also just noticed the center of your grill is missing!

Yep, that's the pic. They ARE vents, with gills similar to the pieces right before the windshield. That pic is a lot darker than I remember :-/. Mesh on those vents is unneccesary. And yes, the middle of my grill is gone, the two end pieces are held together by mesh. ;D

Hey Zactek,

Here is the other picture you wanted me to post, you didn't need to e-mail it to me again, you could have just remote linked from my site! ;)

If you take a picture of the vents from closer, or under the hood and send it to me, I will put that one for you as well! :)

Here it is anyway:

P.S. I haven't changed the picture apart from reducing size.  I can try to lighten it up if you want!

Martin.
