  1. That is my thoughts on this setup also! Maybe you could use shorter/stronger gas struts, and mount them down to the rear of the strut towers! It should work in theory, and would give much better access from the sides. Martin.
  2. I think they look a lot better than stock. Trouble with fiberglass and bondo, is that the rear spoiler is flexible, so this might crack at a later date, Maybe you could fill with silicone or something similar! But I am not sure about how to go about finishing the surface! Someone may have some ideas about this. Like I said, I didn't have to worry about this, as I just have a single peice rear spoiler and the stock antenna was through the body in the same location. I just removed it, welded a small plate in the hole, and finished with bondo Martin.
  3. I went for a Bee Sting type, Looks good, but I am not sure how you would fill the hole and remove the bulge on your spoiler where the stock antenna mounts. I have just a single peice rear spoiler, so just filled the hole the same as any body hole! http://mysite.freeserve.com/UKStarionGallery/Antenna.jpg The antenna was bought from a local auto factors, and cost just £15 ($25) A fair bit less than Mitsi would want for a new power antenna! Martin.
  4. Does it fit the car OK, or have you had to make modifications to mount the dash? I do like it though, just all of the guages are on the wrong side : Can't wait to see pics of it fitted. Martin.
  5. Hey Zactek, Here is the other picture you wanted me to post, you didn't need to e-mail it to me again, you could have just remote linked from my site! If you take a picture of the vents from closer, or under the hood and send it to me, I will put that one for you as well! Here it is anyway: http://mysite.freeserve.com/gallerys/Cars/Worldwide/Zactek.jpg P.S. I haven't changed the picture apart from reducing size. I can try to lighten it up if you want! Martin.
  6. Are they the ones in the picture you sent me a while ago? Not very close look at them, but they just look like holes cut in the hood, have you put any mesh in there to stop debris getting in? Also just noticed the center of your grill is missing! http://mysite.freeserve.com/gallerys/Cars/Worldwide/Zactek3.jpg Martin.
  7. I will post pics, during the whole job, I am constantly updating my site. I have run into a small problem at the moment though, (lack of money :'() I might see if I can get onto a course to learn to spray properly as I am not working at the moment! I will keep everyone informed though! Martin.
  8. Shin1ro has some great pictures of his car on his site! I use a couple of them as my wallpaper, check out his photos page He has done a couple of nice photochop jobs, and the pictures are great! He also has a very nice car! I love the spoiler, but I don't like the louvres! Just my opinion! Martin.
  9. Thanks for the response, I guess I probably won't be going pearl then! There is no way I can pay someone to do it anytime in the forseeable future! If I do decide to give it a go, you would recomend only mixing the pearl into the clear coat, and just spraying two thin coats with no smoothing, and then a further two wet sanded coats. You will have to forgive me, as I am new to spraying, and learning all the time! Thanks again, Martin.
  10. Hi all, Just a couple of quick questions from a novice painter, How hard is it to spray pearl paint? Can it still be wet sanded before the clear coat goes on? Do you have to spray the whole car in one go, to get a good match? I am asking these questions, because, when I can afford to get the paint, I would love to spray my project Starion with pearlecent orange, or a similar color. I have already almost stripped the car, ready for bodywork/paint, and am now just waiting for finances to allow me to buy the paint! I did spray my other Starion in ford diamond white, and it looks OK for a first attempt! I still need a bit more practise though! Too much rubbing down after, I had the preassure too high on my compressor! Any help would be great, Thanks, Martin
