My friends dad does silkscreening. He is going to hit him up this weekend to make me a colored HVAC unit and gauges. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in these. WARNING! Do not get excited over anything yet, don't even know if he will do it. Just want to know how many people would be interested if he agrees. BTW, I have got my temp readout blue- http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/moemagnum/vwp?....rc=ph%26.view=t

I need a better light diffuser, You can actually see the two bulbs.

Is the only thing changed the LCD read out?

I'd like to see the whole membrane changed to blue. And maybe even the top layer colors changed, I'd be interested in a Silver/blue setup to where it matches my gauge faces...

MoMagnum,

Could you please provide more information on how you did this? I have been trying to figure out a plan of attack for a couple of weeks now. I think with some help I might be able to get mine looking about as good. I just installed Autometer Boost and A/F Cobalt gauges under my blue Pioneer radio, with the HKS turbo timer (lights up blue) mounted on the top of the stock radio pocket.

I have been messing around with the clock for a test piece. Any information would be great!

Thanks in advance

Mark

I'm sure you could do the same in blue.  Try sanding the back of your diffuser with a fine sandpaper.  I hear bluebyu has gotten blue led lights to work.

jolyrgr: I can tell you talk to IGot4UGot8 for some reason.  ;)  AND thanks for being the pioneer on this one.

ALL: Here is a IM I sent to MoMagnum.

Thanks for the tip on for temp gage.  Even with three diffesurs, sanding the top of the LED, and sanding the blue gel it is still a LITTLE too bright.  So, I am going to try moving them.

I have tried EVERYTHING on the stupid buttons.  What I found with the three different controls I have is that the button lights are really yellowish.  Here is why I know that: i put a really nice blue gel in the button window, I held the face plate up to a lamp light and it looked an awesome blue, when I installed the face plate I got a really nice GREEN.  I have tried everything under the sun (I think) to get the little button lights to glow white.  (Paint, gels, bulb condoms, new bulbs) No luck.  Darn.  This is not going to be so easy now.  Wish I was going for the green effect like Jolyrgr.

So, I went ahead and got 11 leds and have placed them where the lights used to be.  The only problem I had was getting them to fit and the fact that they don't glow brighter when I activate them.  No big deal in my mind because I still have the orange led for that.

I don't have a digital camera otherwise I would send you a pic of what I have.

Good luck and keep me posted.
