Racing stripes....

Recommended Posts

Okay, I see this Shelby Durango darn near every day. And it's really making me want to put racing stripes on the TSi, the Durango is that Blue color that looks close to the same as the Quest, and it has white racing stripes.

I really love that look, and I've seen another Blue S/Q with white racing stripes(someone's sig picture or something), so I want to do this to.

My question....... 6", 8" or 10" wide stripes?? 6" wide doesn't sound quite wide enough, but 10" almost sounds too wide, I don't know what size I want. Any ideas or suggestions?

Oh yes, I'm talking true rallye style stripes, not the off to one side look of the imports. I want that Viper GTS styling  ;D

I have thought about the same thing.  well, except my quest is red and I can't decide between white or black  ;).  Anyways,  anyone I ask I always get a different answer.  Some say do it while other say not.   I been thinking the best thing to do is get someone with photoshop to put a couple of stripes on a starquest and hold a vote or something.  That my 2 cents anyways.....

Here's some pictures of my car with the stripes. They wrap completely from one to the other and I think they look great!! For some reason I don't really like the look of a blue car being just plain blue... I love my other car being a solid color, but wouldn't change my mind on the stripes 8)

One bad thing is that you REALLY stand out, and can be spotted from quite a distance. That leads to may speeding tickets as I've come to find out!

Thanks alot Mr.HP,

I've seen a picture of your car being used as Joel's avatar on Tristarion.com, I was going to try to get ahold of you to ask you about your's.

That's the info I needed, and the look I like  ;D

I've often wondered how our cars would look with late 60's stripes like...

How about along the outside of the crease (of hood) like this late-model Camaro?

How about dual stripes inside of the crease like this '70 Chevelle?

How about dual stripes along the outside edges like this late 60's Nova?

  • 1 month later...

I just got my car back from the shop and i had it painted red with white racing stripes, the same as the blue one, 4" apart and 8" thick, and it looks sooooo sweet, i'll get pics up as soon as i can, very good looking, and very eye catching.

Do the strips in vinyl (spelling ????? man I'm a tard 2night)

If you don't like the you can take them off without hurting the paint.......it also might be cheap the taking it to a paint shop.

On the drag car (its White) I want to get some blue stripes like on the old Mustang GT350. Their like 2 4-6 in stripes with about 2-4 in the middle. I think it would look really nice on a White conquest.
