Wont run unless I put a grounded test light to the white wire at the distributor connector. will start every time but will not boost over 7lbs.I always run10 lbs. While the engine is running and I remove the test light that is probe into the white wire I have about 3 minutes run of time before the engine dies and it runs normal and will boost to 10 lbs. I clean ground connection at #9 ground point. the test light acts as a resistor. I need Ideals to correct this. Thanks to all........ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
scott87star Posted September 5, 2015 Report Share Posted September 5, 2015 I'd very carefully check all the wiring in the distributor and between the distributor and the knock box, you've got some problem in there. Mike my distributor is 6 months old but you have to use the old wire loom that comes out of old distributor. I rewired and made a new loom with new connectors. all of my issues have gone away.
