Preludedude
So my TurboXS has a stripped screw, and I have been researching other ones to purchase. While browsing, I see that the same basic model (ball/spring) are installed differently. Here is TURBO XS from their website: http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd461/Preludedude1/turboxs.jpg And here is NXS from their website: http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd461/Preludedude1/single_turbo.jpg If these are both basic standard ball/spring setups, then WHY does the boost source and wastegate hoses goes backwards from each other, depending on which brand??? mechengrkj
It appears to me that the ball and spring in the TurboXS version come in from the side and they have developed some other mechanism for adjusting it rather than just preloading the spring like in the NXS version. Could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me. You'd have to take one apart to see though.
mechengrkj
After doing some more research it appears that the TurboXS MBC (at least the cheapest one) is a bleed type boost controller which is basically just a valve that bleeds the pressure down while the NXS one is a ball and spring type. See here.
Colin
The NXS is what you want, bleed valves are trash
importwarrior
i run the Halllman Boostcontrollerhttp://www.hallmanboostcontroller.com/ http://www.hallmanboostcontroller.com/applic.html Ball and Spring. they have a stiff spring and a soft spring depending on your boost levels.
Preludedude
Ok. I was thinking the turboxs was a ball/spring. It's a bleed type. Gotcha
