mr-starion
Doesnt look very solid for the price:s nor does it look backpurged.
NotStock88
That is a CHAD manifold and is a quality unit. I have been running mine for about 3yr now and no issues with cracking. That price is STELLAR for for what it is. Unfortunately alot people are going to be disappointed it only has a stock flange on it and that it is internally gated but heck, if you want a bolt on performance up manifold that is going to last, this is it. BC_99
Because it's not been back purged. Looks like it's been mig welded in some places, and the head flange looks warped in the 4th picture. Nice paper weight for $395. Lol BC_99
freebird
I thought it looked like Chads too. And wouldn't you have to look inside the mani to see if it was back purged? All I see is heat effected zone...not oxide
StarquestRescue
Looks like a chad manifold to me. Adapter flanges are readily available.
mr-starion
Supposedly it is chad that built it, but the guy selling them isnt him. Lol
creakyjoints
How can you tell it wasnt back purged? Thought you would have to look inside to tell?
mr-starion
How can you tell it wasnt back purged? Thought you would have to look inside to tell? The weld color doesnt seem right for a back purged weld. Maybe it was backpurged but not correctly. Its crusty black and welded very hot. Alot of oxidization on the surface. Very large heat affected zone for the thickness of the material and doesnt even look like its penetrated 80%. Cracks usually develop at the heat affected zone right after the weld. Welding too hot on stainless and turning it black removes the properties that make it stainless. It also becomes very brittle. ***This is my personal opinion im in no way trying to bash anyones work. Ive seen chads work but ive never had any experience with it. I may be wrong but Im speaking from 11 years experience with welding stainless steel. I weld stainless pipe and aluminum frames all day everyday 6 days a week mig tig and stick at times. It is a very tempermental material and usually for it to last it needs to be done correctly.***

NotStock88
Here is what my header from CHAD looks like for comparison. I polished it after I received it. http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx254/notstock88/DSC02383.jpg http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx254/notstock88/DSC02386.jpg Edited July 1, 2015 by NotStock88
