Cold Air Intakes?

Best thing to do if you are keeping the mass air sensor (staying tbi) is to replace the accordian rubber air restriting stock junk hose with a 90 degree 3 inch o.d.

pipe. These are easy to get on ebay in aluminum.

Next you can modify the air can with some holes. But the cars now gonna breath some hot engine air. So get after the air entry to the air can so the factory cold air from the fender function can be improved.

The gain is going to be from removing restriction.

MK1 Makes a nice accordian hard pipe

Also if you upgrade to a 1g eclipse turbo mass air sensor you can use this and have a huge open filter under the hood

there used to be a ton of the super cheap (like 10 dollars each) short ram intakes for the 1989 prelude, they where just a nice little 90 degree tube and they had two port on them and a 3 inch to 2.25 inch coupler that was just right. I only see this one for sale now though

I had a car that had those drier tube looking things one ran down to the airdam and up to the air can. It helped a lot.

every time I see these pics of cars driving thru deep flood water I think of these cold air intake set ups and water entering the intake ;)

Some of my best customers use cold air intakes like that, a little puddle and they need a flat bed! LOL
