smallblock12
Looking for an air intake temp Sensor for my 86. Po ripped wires out I tries to rig the back in but it's not working and I think it's causing so easy issues. Could I wire up a gm one. I searched and searched but there are no write ups
aknorthstar
I have used both, stock and GM Open Element IAT Sensor with 6" Pigtail by DIYAutoTune. And didn't notice any difference. The GM is only a couple of degrees off
aknorthstar
You will need to weld a 3/8 bung for the gm sensor.

Shelby
if you have any local u-pull it's with any older euro cars (Volvo , vw, m-benz etc ) many used the same air temp sensor as the 86 quest , it's basely a bosh universal sensor , but the gm semsor used with the MS ecu will work also
Komeuppance
The GM AIT's spec 3.457k ohms at 20c, factory spec 2.45k ohms at 20c... so it's not "just a couple of degrees off." That's besides the point though, as the secondary AIT you're talking about won't affect the car enough to really notice. The first one, in the MAS, however, will. -Robert
aknorthstar
The GM sensor @ 25c is 2,752k , and @ 30c its 2,205k ......So if the stock is 2.45k at 20c its "just a couple of degrees off".
