chiplee
Considering mineral or arctic white now. Opinions? http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/219F23F8-F91B-4F99-B0C2-35BDC060240A_zps52uruysr.png http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/5A1AB4F8-0E85-46F1-BEA0-DC86CF9021D0_zpsqwlu0t3m.png Edited May 3, 2014 by chiplee
Dred_85.5_TSI
I prefer white. Seems like I see a lot of silver/grey BMW/Mercs/Audis.
dmyers151
Yeah, can't go wrong with a white car IMO. It shows off the lines better with shadows and accents any colored features more dramatically.

chiplee
Arctic White! Yeah, turns out it's call Alpine white, but I like it. Really hard to pass on a color upgrade for the measly $550 they charge though. Nowhere closer to a decision at this point.
importwarrior
I kind of like the black. http://www.autoweek.com/galleryimage/CW/20140115/CARNEWS/115009996/PH/0/1/2015-BMW-M4-coupe-Detroit-auto-show-front-3-4.jpg
claurance2
That alpine white is my first choice then atlantic blue. I have a black 335i and I have to wash this car every week it seems. But when it's clean yessir it's a beautiful sight
chiplee
For now I'm settled on Silverstone metallic with black wheels and carbon fiber roof. Still a ways off from production so I have time to change my mind. Not exactly like this but close. There actually isn't a picture of my exact config on the web yet. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/626074A4-D00B-4724-B566-D82615B3522C_zpsopupfahs.png I got to see the new M3 in person the other day now that launch cars have started to arrive and I'm ridiculously excited. Pictures just can't capture the lines. The first dyno results are in, too and it's grossly underrated as BMW has a habit of doing with its turbo cars. It's rated at 425hp/406tq by BMW and is consistently making an even 425/425 TO THE WHEELS! That's a 500/500 crank number assuming 15% loss. Needless to say I'm stoked. Should be unbelievable to drive. Edited June 21, 2014 by chiplee

chiplee
Here's another one that's "close" to my config. I ordered an M3 though, not a 2 door M4. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/Dvlachos/DSC_0201_zpscbfafbeb.jpg
chiplee
Ok, it's settled on color. Finally saw Silverstone metallic with black wheels and CF roof and it's Gorgeous! Need to decide on HUD or no HUD. Unfortunately Hud is bundled with a package that costs $4300. Way too much, but I really want the HUD for safety/cool factor while driving. This thing is blindingly fast. Early dyno results are coming in at 500hp/500tq. Can't be looking down for speed and rpm. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/5383D8BB-E936-4FD0-BBB8-BB210F7FB643_zps2cnk4xzz.png
Technology
It went from 425 to 500 hp? Or is that the wheel vs. crank numbers? And bumping up the power is easy with a retune.
chiplee
It was grossly underrated. Factory crank numbers were advertised as 425/406. Two cars have dynoed at 425/425 wheel. Assuming 15% drivetrain loss that makes the real crank numbers more like 500/500. The reality is you're probably not actually losing 15% to a 2015 BMW drivetrain with carbon fiber driveshaft, but it's gotta be over 10% per the physics. Here is his order sheet I can't wait to drive that beast. Yes it is, but not as good as it used to be. New model and all I suppose. I went through Bavarian, but it's the same stuff. Same order sheet even. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/buildsheet_zpsc4782534.jpg And here's a few pics of one of the first similarly configured F80 M3s to be delivered to a U.S. buyer with a good camera. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/1aHEacI_zps37fcd875.jpghttp://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/UFXAkG1_zpsdcae4bfb.jpghttp://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/VPm9ITF_zpsed0a5b80.jpghttp://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/N64fZkD_zpsd8e9a39c.jpghttp://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/3YsYlFA_zps0c832b78.jpghttp://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/8Jeu1qJ_zps30b10426.jpghttp://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/chipleeiii/RYyBtc3_zps88023c2b.jpg Edited August 18, 2014 by chiplee

Oh and you might want to let your buddy know that most of the Bimmer forum guys think that enhanced USB BT functionality will be able to be coded. Some folks won't want to mess with that, but worth a heads up. Cool build btw, will be nice and light. I had adaptive susp and HK sound on my build sheet for a while, but pulled them to help fund the executive package. I gotta' have the hud and leather. And I had to get top view for the wife. Can't order cameras without exec pkg. Edited August 18, 2014 by chiplee
dmyers151
I feel like there should've been LED strip lights in those gills above the brake ducts. Otherwise, beautiful.

I feel like that's a little played out now that it's on everything. The headlights themselves are LED if you pay for that option. $1900 was too steep for me so I'll have standard HIDs. dmyers151
I mean, I'm nit picking here and just kinda building a car in my head. But I would be neat to see a rendering of it. The Germans seem to do LED's so much better than everyone else. The stuff Ford and Nissan are putting out make their cars look like toys. The adaptive LED headlights are the future, but just pricey now. You should see what that technology is capable of though. It's basically computerized headlights that select what to illuminate outside the normal beam width of a headlight. Animals, people, etc, are detected and illuminated.
