mikejlamp06
Can someone please link me to a thread with A LOT of info on LS1 swaps. Just bought an LS1 and I need a ton of info and a decent walkthrough of an LS1 swap. Thank you.

R-R-Quest
Is it possible to fit the LS1 without cutting the firewall ant trans tunnel? Also... if you have an automatic SC, you can probably get away without cutting the trans tunnel if you are going with and automatic (th350, 400, 700r4, 4l60, etc). mikejlamp06
Mine is an 86 widebody 5 speed. I will be using a 4L60
R-R-Quest
Maybe someone else can answer that, but I think the 5spd cars have smaller trans tunnels, so it will be a very tight fit.
LSQuest88
Yes you can fit an ls1 in without cutting the firewall although my car when I bought it had a small block Chevy swap and already had a different radiator mount setup so I'm not sure if that helps with any extra room from factory mount... I have mine mated up to a tremec tko 600 and fit that without cutting the trans tunnel as well and my car was originally a 5 speed car. I'm not sure about the ls1 6 speed or auto but with my tremec all I had to do is take a hammer and make a few dents for my trans to tuck up nicely into the stock trans tunnel.
