B2600troll
Hello I'm new to the forum. My question involves the distributor notches and conflicting info I've been told. To start my distributor has a punch mark on the dizzy near the gear. It also has a line on the dizzy that I assume aligns with the punch hole. Now what I have been told is to just insert the dizzy until the rotor aligns with #1. But I have also been told to align the punch hole with the line on the dizzy, and if I do this I am not near with the rotor to the #1 plug. Any clarification would be great thanks
ucw458
Line up the mark on the gear with the mark on the shaft. Then when installing line up mark on the dizzy retaining ring with the stud.
importwarrior
punch hole with the line on the dizzy is proper to start, once the gears mesh "dizzy and cam gear" the marks will no longer line up. Properly installed Dizzy, NOTICE the dimple on the dizzy gears location to the line on the dizzy shaftafter cam gear and dizzy gear have MESHED together. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e82/silverquest/PQ%20manual%20pics/album_pic2-5.jpg Edited November 26, 2013 by importwarrior
