starion revolution Posted January 19, 2013 Report Share Posted January 19, 2013 On my 86 I have a problem once the car reach temperature the idle will bounce from 850 to 1000 will no stay steady I replaced the mass air flow and still the same, clean all grounds and check alternator but still have the problem what it could be? scott87star Posted January 19, 2013 Report Share Posted January 19, 2013 Do the above and if that doesn't help then you need to check that the nose switch is working and sending a ground signal to the ECU when the throttle is closed. If the ECU doesn't get the signal it thinks you're cruising and will use the O2 sensor to adjust the fuel back and forth across 14.7 which makes the idle go up and down.
