danmanTSI
So i've been looking for front shock inserts for my 84 but could only come up with widebody ones. I know that the housing are different between the two, but is the shock the same? Dan
Crazy Quest
Yea bro the shock is the same except its a lil shorter i guess. Is that the suspension I sold you in your sig pic on the flatty? Edited September 23, 2012 by Crazy Quest
D_Venable
the inserts for the flatty are shorter, I forget by how much though
Dred_85.5_TSI
Pretty sure that the difference is the extension on the bottom of the wide body shock. Cut that off and you have a flat body shock.

obsolete
Hmm. So, since it's almost impossible to find these for widebody cars nowadays, would it be possible to use Flatty inserts with a spacer on a widebody?
D_Venable
front inserts can be found all day long, it's the rear struts for either that are hard to find (a quality one anyway).

Thanks for the info, thats just what I needed! I made the order....now I wait Yea bro the shock is the same except its a lil shorter i guess. Is that the suspension I sold you in your sig pic on the flatty? It's part of it, I have yet to install the springs in the front. The rear is now sitting quite nice and looks great with the rear 8s. Now if I could just find a nice pair for the front...front inserts can be found all day long, it's the rear struts for either that are hard to find (a quality one anyway). A lot of sites still list them for sale only to tell you later that they're no longer available. Haha that seems to happen a lot with these cars
