MainstreaM
Get an oil cooler from a second gen montero. About twice the size of ours and use the same banjo bolt type of hookup. Kane
strang3majik
Only thing that scares me about a used cooler is it having metal shavings as well...and at that point, might as well have the stock one cleaned...lol Is there anyway I can get one with an fittings and have it still connect to the stock sandwich plate on the other end? NudeLobster
What I'm doing is running metric to -AN adapters on the oil sandwich and then -AN on the cooler too. You can then run -AN to hose barb fittings to go on the adapters. Then you just get the matching rubber hose, slide it on, and clamp it. -Justin

strang3majik
Pretty much finished with the paint scheme...and picked my rods and pistons up from the machine shop...they're all ready to go...having him clean up the block now. Now just to pick up my crank kit, order my gasket set and hard pipes, and get the oil cooler situation squared away. Man this is getting expensive :/ But, pics http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt282/strang3majik/DSC09992.jpg http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt282/strang3majik/DSC00005.jpg http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt282/strang3majik/DSC09998.jpg

strang3majik
^^^Haha...very true. But...got the crank friday and gasket set yesterday...made a lot of progress overnight and now I'm tired and going to bed...but, here's some pics. Just a few more things to button up. Also got some help from Brian (morbidmopars) putting the pistons and crank in as this is my first time yanking an engine down this far. I believe I got the timing right as I went by the service manual and 15 times, checked it...and cross checked it with a Chilton as well to see if it had any special notes. So...we'll see if she runs in a few days Still need intercooler piping though :/ But, from this.... http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt282/strang3majik/DSC09770.jpg To this... http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt282/strang3majik/DSC00050.jpg http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt282/strang3majik/DSC00058.jpg http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt282/strang3majik/DSC00069.jpg and here's one of the car...its watching and waiting patiently http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt282/strang3majik/DSC00043.jpg

strang3majik
jellyyyyy. picking up my engine from the machine shop tomorrow. ugh. I can't wait to see this thing running. I just LOVE the theme haha -Justin lol...I'm going to try and get mine able to start tomorrow. It will be without intercooler piping, so just having the maf off of the throttle body, but, at least I'll hear it run. My intercooler piping is going to pose an issue. I might end up getting a stock intercooler and piping :/ And I can't wait to get it going...been out of the Quest game far too long And...no offense, but I hope I don't have your luck...hahaha Edited June 17, 2012 by strang3majik
