89 Fiji SHP $2000 *Sale Pending*

I got this car last summer, and did a bunch of work on it since getting it.

Unfortunately, Im in Washington state currently for school, and for who knows how long after that. I dont need to keep this sitting around the driveway back home in Virginia.

Its an 89 Fiji SHP sunroof car. 5 speed, black leather interior. Overall, this is a very nice car. It is very solid mechanically, but it needs a paint job (really on the right front fender, headlight cover, and hood) and an airdam to be a beauty queen again. The interior is very nice. By far one of the nicest 89 leather interiors ive seen and been in. The back seats are still buttery, and the drivers seat is still very soft as well.

The car has 142XXX miles on it, and about 16XXX miles on the rebuilt motor. It is certainly the fastest "stock" quest ive ever driven (and ive driven a few :)) Its just a factory spec rebuild with a non-jet valve head on it. I have no idea if it is a marnel, or clearwater or what.. But there aint no jet valves up in there. Stock 12A turbo in great shape with minimal shaft play, running at factory boost. I eliminated many of the unnecessary vacuum lines and emissions stuff, such as EGR etc etc. I also replaced the steering gearbox with a low mileage unit that does not leak and the steering is much better now. The car also has a short throw shifter installed

There is minimal rust on the car, the frame rails are solid. The car has the original SHP 8 and 9 inch rims, they are powdercoated black. The front tires definately need replacing, the rears are ok, but will need replacing before too long. If you prefer, I can put a nice set of 7 and 8 inch rims that are the stock finish if the black wheels are an issue for you. The adjustable struts are still there and in excellent shape.

As you can see, the car could use some paint, and has a dent in the rear 1/4 panel. Keep in mind, the car has not been washed in any of these pictures. I also have a taillight to replace the one that is broken in the pictures. I should have some better pics coming soon. For 2,000, the car will be coming with a decent one piece airdam as well.

Though I am out of state, my father is happy to show the car to anyone who is interested. If you want more info, give me a PM, or feel free to contact me on my phone (804) 314-5938

Thanks!

Phil

Did you have this car when I bought those parts from you this past summer? Looks like a good daily driver. Hopefully it goes to a good home.

I understand all too well. Normal circumstances I would never sell it but my wife and I are expecting our 4th child - so one of our cars is on the chopping block and the Conquest unforunately lost. Now (dare I say it??) I might have to get a minivan  Edited by john82wa
