Summit Ignition box and FIP

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I installed the FIP FC-1s a three or four years ago and at the same time I picked up the IC and a Summit Ignition box but didn't install it.

Well, I'm doing the install of the IC and a Summit Multi-spark capacitive discharge ignition box now. The summit ignition box that I bought was second hand so I don't have the papers that come with it. I think I have some of the wiring figured out but not all of it.

Does anyone have experience with this setup and have a wiring diagram handy?

So far I have figured out... (i think)

- HEAVY RED - to battery positive

- HEAVY BLACK - to battery negative

- violet and green wires go to the locked out distributor.

- white (points pickup - not using because i'm using the distributor)

- red - switched power source

- orange - positive side of coil

- black - negative side of coil

- yellow - tach output.

Does that sound right?

The Summit Digital CD Ignition box gets hooked up the same way the MSD 6AL does. Look in the Starquest FAQ Forum for the wiring instructions.
