Minagera
Well I wouldn't exactly saying giving life, buy maybe some much need TLC on it. Some of you might have seen it in the For Sale section however with the complete lack of interested I figured what they hay I might as well restore it. Anyway the bad right now: Rust coming through on rear quarters and surface rust on every bit of the under carriage.Fair repair job on what looks to be a substantial accident on the driver’s side.Slipping clutch (could be just do to adjustment)Overall paint condition and a few dings and molding holes that need to be filled.Rear brakes are sticking and no e-brake right now. The Good: The engine is strong and pulls very hard for a stock car (mostly stock) and superb oil pressure. That is about it... The Plan... Well to start with change of all the fluids. The engine oil smells a bit gassy and is not a thick as I would like. After than get a look at the brakes all around. I am thinking I will have to change out the rear calipers for some rebuilt ones and will flush the system with new fluid of course. I hope I can lubricate the e-brake cables and get it working as well. The next thing that absolutely needs to be done is valve cover gasket or where ever else I have oil leaking from. I plan on leaving the 4 bolt rear end until I break it so it could be a while. Whelp that is about it for now. As I do repairs and upgrades I will try and document with pictures to keep this updated here. Also if anyone is in or around the HSV area, besides Nomad and 87quest-tsi, I am always game from an impromptu wrench/meet thing on weekends. http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2001.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2002.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2003.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2004.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2005.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2006.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2007.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2008.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2009.jpg?m=1317362829 http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2011.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2012.jpg?m=1317362829 http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2017.jpg?m=1317362829 http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2019.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2020.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2021.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2022.jpg?m=1317362829http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/89%20Starion%20-%2023.jpg?m=1317362829
Alan
Glad you are back safe! Is that the one that Harry brought up last year at the meet at Davids? May not be much help but holler, I'm off Shields Rd/Mt Carmel. Alan

Minagera
Well I go to change the oil and try to find my oil leak, which was a bad 710 cap. Entire drivers side of the engine block and all the undercarriage was coated after the short drive to the DMV to get it registered. Anyway I go to move it for a oil change and the starter wouldn't engage the flywheel. It would run, at first, but then it started to bind. Well I figure it would be a good time to pull it out and see what the deal was. Well the pictures can explain most. Nice chip there, no so bad you think though right? http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/BadStarter/IMG_0766.JPG?m=1317951898 Well that is a little bit of lateral play. http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/BadStarter/IMG_0768.JPG?m=1317951880http://minagera.org/gallery/var/resizes/Cars/Conquest/89-Starion/BadStarter/IMG_0767.JPG?m=1317951910 Well a good (used) starter from the parts pile and it bump starts like a champ. Need to get the brake stuff in so I can do those now.
