Bag-O-Chips
Has any one successfully rebuilt their rear calipers? I'm in the middle of mine and the only thing I'm having issues with are the darn spring washers, I don't have the special tool listed in the manual so installing the connecting link and parking brake actuator is PITA. Any useful suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again, -Chips
JohnnyWadd
Its doable. having a vise to set it in helps.
Bag-O-Chips
it's in a vise right now but I don't know what to use to compress the darn things and be able to get the Parking lever in
Indiana
Take an old socket or piece of tubing, grind it down so it looks like that "tool" and that slips down over the pin and mashes the washers so you can line that up. It doesn't have to mash much. I made one the first time I did those but then I found the tool on ebay for a couple bucks.
Bag-O-Chips
I managed to get the rears rebuilt, I some how managed to fab up a tool out of a SBC pushrod i cut in 1/2 and tig'd together on a piece of bar stock. It worked wonders.
