I might not post that often, but I use it to buy parts and gather information. I have bought parts off a bunch of you guys over the years and can't seem to figure out why not one person will even comment on this car. Is it the price? Mnementh Posted August 19, 2011 Report Share Posted August 19, 2011 IMO you've done some work on the drivetrain that's good but the passenger side front needs work, the heater-A/C is missing and the wheels and seats are a little scruffy looking. Also with that door jamb rust spot I personally start wondering about the rust you DON'T see underneath. '89 SHPs are desirable but $5k would be about right if all the items listed above were corrected and there wasn't any rust underneath. I'd say drop the price to $4k or offer and see what happens. A local dealer here in the midwest has an '87 with 85k miles that he's completely refurbished including new tires & paint. He's been sitting on it all summer for $6900. I have a very stock '87 with 40k miles on it, everything works, no rust and just a little parking lot rash on the body. I've indicated I'm interested in selling and a guy that appeared VERY interested offered me only $4k(!!). Hope that gives you an idea of the market... Hemmings Mag just ran an article on how "toy" car market is terrible. My father in-law owns a used car lot, he can't sell stuff that 2 years he couldn't keep on the lot. I search Quest on CL weekly, and I've been seeing stuff sit for 1000 dollars or under. If you want a comment, it's a beautiful car, I love the paint scheme. Very clean interior. As for the rust spot i believed it was better to be up front and honest thats why i posted that pic. I will take some pics of underneath the car to show there is no additional rust.
