quest87tsicon
I recently replaced my clutch and flywheel, and in the process realized the slave cylinder seal was shot so replaced that as well. Bolted up the transmission, filled it with fluid, installed the shufter, bled the clutch, and then noticed a problem. The shifter has movement as if in neutral, but I cannot shift it into anny gear. Also, the transmission appears to be in gear as I cannot turn the flywheel freely. So basically the transmission is stuck in gear, and I have no idea why. Not really well versed in manual transmissions and would appreciate any help. I am pretty certain there is nothing I could have possibly installed incorrectly. I used a conquest manual, and it had no problem shifting prior. I just didn't have any petal, and the clutch material had exploded.
scott87star
Does the clutch feel like is engaging and disengaging when you press the pedal? The wrong throw out bearing will cause problems. You can also drop the pan and take a look at the shifter forks. Using a big screwdriver you can move them back and forth with the middle position for each being neutral. wrngwae
are you certain that when you put the shifter back in that you put it in the hole. it is possible to miss it and still install the shifter.
quest87tsicon
The clutch is engaging. I started it up in the air. The clutch released with the pedal, and engaged when I released the pedal. so I know the clutch engages, and that the transmission is free. I just cannot get it to shift out of gear. Going to pull the shifter off again and start there.
ColdScrip
How positive are you that your clutch disk was facing the right direction?

quest87tsicon
Well, I did have the shifter installed incorrectly. I did that, checked everything. Took it for a drive, and the clutch engages, however there is hardly any pedal. Also, when I drop the clutch from a stop around 2k rpm, the clutch just spins. The clutch engages when the pedal is only released a quarter of the travel. Otherwise I have no problems. I have bled the clutch numerous times. Replaced the master and slave along with the clutch and flywheel. Could this be a result of air in the lines still? Or a issue with the flex plate?
