Air flow sensor or tps?

I just bought a 87 Conquest and I finally got it to run after I tapped on the fuel pump to get it to flow but the motor falls flat when I get up to 3000+ rpm and I was thinking the air flow sensor or tps was bad. Any ideas? I haven't been able to drive it because I need to replace the master clutch cylinder but definitely looking forward to it.

When you say the motor falls flat - do you mean that the pump motor quits or the engine is starved for gas with the motor running?

What pressure is the fuel system at during idle and cripping the hose almost shut at idle? See the links below on how to do this.

It sounds like your secondary injector isn't injecting, cuz it's supposed to kick in at about 3K RPMs. See the following linkss for how to check/ clean the electrical connectors for both injectors plus some other fuel system stuff.

It would be a good idea to go through the fuel system as PQ shows in the above links and change out the fuel system filters and strainer. Plus get both injectors cleaned and checked at Witchhunters http://www.witchhunter.com/
