bronick65 Posted November 7, 2010 Report Share Posted November 7, 2010 i ran my car harder 2 days ago, then i every have, didnt get into the red stayed about 5grand, now at around 2500-3000 have a slight knock i know its not the valves they are manual, and yes i ajusted them again just for the kick of it, does anything else make a slight knock , maybe timing chain, i dont know if it has had the elimination done please advise. The oil pan sucks empty in seconds at those rpms and if you are just straight line driving while shifting this is not an issue. If you were flying around in circles or racing up a steep hill you were sucking in some air. Best to pull the oil pan off and find out it likely is. Rod bearings aren't expensive and just slight wearing on one part of the insert causes knocking then it gets worse from there. You can remove the inner two sway bar busrings and the bar falls down and you can take the rod caps off and do all this while motor is in the car.
